I will need a spot and listen check from everyone. Make sure to post it. You can have the animals do spot and listen checks too.

Bastion shakes his head, "It remains near suicidal to charge that fort when the light allows them to bring that ballista and archers to bear on that open expanse. Rushing this is not an option."

"We must assume they at least know our approximate current location. I suggest we move elsewhere, and attempt to observe their response to the death of that familiar."

"If fortune favors us, this event may prove in our favor. I suspect that bird's master will wish to investigate the incident himself. If we can deal with him here and now, taking the fort will be noticeably less complicated. Regardless, I suggest we start moving now."

Out of Character: Would it be survival, or just a raw Int check to recognize the best place to reposition? Rolling both.

Out of Character: Since the bird went down, Albrecht will not summon an air elemental either.

In Character: Albrecht sees Krusten's amazing shot and congratulates her on a job well done. As Bastion responds to Illdrahil, Albrecht listens and nods along, adding "We have a slight problem with our wagon. It cannot get off the road or out-of-sight anywhere. I don't think abandoning it would be the right call either. We may should just set up the wagon across the road near a bend and wait for whoever comes to investigate."

Ildrahil looks at Deanna, "Mayhaps you could help here. Do ye have any spells that can hide the party and our wagon?" Turning to Albrecht, "Do ye have a spell that can camouflage the wagon if we put it near to the forest. If we can do this an ambush we could lay."

Avan had begun his summoning as soon as Krusten begun pulling back her string. Even though the bird died before the elemental came into existence, the spell would have been used.

"Why waste magic when we have the resources to disappear among us?" Avan asks rhetorically, as he lifts a leafy branch from the ground and places it against the wagon.

Unwilling to take the risk himself, an believing a cat will be stealthier and less of an obvious threat, Avan sends Fluffles out to find and retrieve the bird (A mix of the Fetch, Seek, and Track tricks which he knows). Since Speak with Animals is probably still running (4 minutes total) he instructs Fluffles to stay low and sneak.
Avan also listens to what the horses and other animals have to say in case they spot or hear something.

Out of Character: Cat's first two checks are the ones asked for. The other checks are for searching for the bird. The hide checks assumes he is in tall grass/heavy undergrowth, otherwise it's 4 less.

When Krusten sees the bird explode she says, "See, that is how it is done fellas." She pridefully crosses her arms waiting for the next 'event' as the party surveys the scene. She follows when they're ready.
