Bastion halts. He nods to Krusten and Ildrahil and points straight up.
Once they have taken their potions and ascended, he will keep track of the time as best he can, estimating the number of minutes that have passed. When he judges it to be about 7 minutes, he will take the Fly potion, gather up Deanna and Albrecht and follow. Both of his passengers will have safety lines around their waist that he'll sever once they reach solid ground.
Had either spellcaster requested a chance for casting a beneficial spell before entering the fray, Bastion will use the cliff face above the fort to stabilize them for the sake of casting.
Avan had been lost in thoughts, remembering things too horrible to mention as the sun set. He quaffs the Darkvision as instructed and patiently waits at the edge of the drawbridge's span. He has his bow in one hand (No shield so AC 16), and is flanked by bear and cat. He shakes ever so slightly, dismissing it as chill when it's really nerves.
Out of Character: Removed the potions we used. Note I have a Darkness spell prepared, so can cast it on a stone for Bastion to carry and shroud himself in - until no longer needed. It may be better worth it to just convert it into summons, just like my other situational spells. I think I'll be mainly using a bow this combat (And a cat).
Sorry about the lack of responses. I have had PC access, just been very busy. Will be getting a new phone so I can play while in transit.
"That darkness spell could be of great use Avan if you can spare it. Both on the approach and during the assault."
The darkness infused stone should help with the stealth on approach. Once at the top of the tower. Bastion would drop it on the roof, preferably where Krusten and the mages remain concealed by it, but very little else in the fort is.
Out of Character: and we have an Icon sighting! Good to see you. Edited: daishain on 23rd Apr, 2017 - 5:42pm
Albrecht prepares for battle. He checks that his belt of healing is set and swings his quarterstaff to get his muscles loose. He then drinks his potion of dark vision and ties the safety lines while waiting on Bastion's timing. He estimates time himself to make sure they aren't too far off. He lets Bastion know that he doesn't have any spell prep to do, just reacting to whatever is present when they land. As Bastion flies up over the wall, Albrecht keeps a sharp eye out to see what awaits them in the fort.
Albrecht tells Krama to guard Avan, so she will stay nearby. Krama dutifully stays by Avan's side as he maneuvers to over closer by the gate. Watching a bear on guard is a bit of a strange sight, as they are not usually attentive for so long to one spot.
Out of Character: I will wait to roll or post about specific spells until we find out more about what is waiting on us at the top of the roof.
Out of Character: Krusten took her potion of gaseous form and should be heading toward the tower, but it seems that Bastion is getting clarification on how many towers there are and which one we will chose to focus out attack on.
Out of Character: Seems that they're both identical and connected, so it matters little. If you guys land on one, I'll take the other.
In Character: Upon rendezvousing above the fort and letting Deanna cast any last minute buffs, Bastion will wait for Krusten and Ildrahil, their re-materialization is the timing factor now.
If stealth is maintained up to that point, Bastion will pocket the darkness stone so it doesn't give him away, and quietly drop down behind the tower guards, releasing the safety ropes for Deanna and Albrecht.
If it is not, dropping down as quickly as he can, slicing the ropes, and moving to engage. Edited: daishain on 24th Apr, 2017 - 7:02pm
