Bastion replies "One cannot be certain, there might have been some outside of the walls when we began. But at the least, we seem to have eliminated everyone within them. There is apparently only one exit, and that was covered at all times."
"As to taking this place for ourselves, it shows promise, but I do not think it wise at this time. We lack the manpower to staff it properly, and I would like to have the resources to shut down the weaknesses in its design that we just exploited before relying on its strength in the long run. I would seek anti air defenses and a hidden escape route at the minimum"
"There is also the question of what we could do with it. Short of turning to banditry ourselves, I do not think there is much we can do while remaining close enough to the fort to avoid leaving it abandoned for long stretches of time. Had we faster means of transportation, that might change, but for now… "
Presuming there are no objections, Bastion starts loading the most valuable unclaimed items in the chests of holding. As agreed upon before, Deanna is free to claim the wands and staff.
Out of Character: between the wagon and the chests, I'd like to at least haul off all but the foodstuffs. Can that be attained? Presume we leave no passenger space in the wagon.

"If we leave it here it will surely be taken over by others who will want to make banditry their plight."
Krusten slowly forgets her idea of keeping the fort and follows the party in the direction they wish to go.
'We will head back to the town now?"
Ildrahil helps load things where he can. He also wishes they could keep the fort for a base of operations but understands the logic behind not being able to do so. He's happy to have found this group as he's seen more more gold in the last few weeks than his life before.
Avan also helps load the chests of holding, taking a Ring of Sustenance and 108,800 gold for himself. He leaves some of the foodstuffs out for the live animals and leaves their gates open.
"I think we should sell this place to the town for its land value. If we wanted to run an auction, we could also have a look to see if there's another town to the north, but those giants are still in our way. With this gold, we should be able to afford something to help us fight them. And of course bring the rescued women to town."
Come morning, Avan rides behind Bastion (Who I think is at the front), keeping an eye out.
"That could work, someone may be willing to purchase the land for the sake of a protected settlement. We will have to make inquiries in town about such a possibility."
"Incidentally, Some of the damage taken last night revealed the existence of a module built into my frame I was previously unaware of. It is now active, and seems to have multiple functions, though I am not yet sure of the… " Bastion disappears and reappears several paces away, "... M all." Looking around for a few moments, he focuses, pops back to his starting position, then simply states, "Curious, a most useful trick."
Bastion will make sure everyone, including the freed captives, is ready to go. Unless someone objects, after everyone else exits the gate, he'll close it, and use the Rod's ladder function to climb down from the walls. "At least this way any who wish to occupy the place will need to work for it."
With that done, he'll mount up on Arion and ride off along with his companions back to town.
Out of Character: Don't mind the "Bamfing", just testing out one of my new toys! .
Krusten is surprised at the suggestion of selling the fort to the town but then after a few seconds comes to terms with the fact that the fort was hard won and owned by them… so its the group's own to sell as they see fit.
"I like the idea of selling the fort… we should get a handsome raise for that!"
Albrecht quietly works to help the others as they clear the fort and gather supplies. He catches his few winks of rest as he can. Krama follows him for a while, but grows tired herself and finally settles in the middle of the courtyard, feeling she should be able to reach him quickly if he requires her. Come morning Albrecht goes just outside the gates to commune with nature for an hour before returning. It seems everyone is making ready and discussing their best options for the fort. He agrees with Bastion saying "We can't hold the fort yet and buying loyalty to man the fort properly would be prohibitively expensive, even with our newfound wealth." Looking over the equipment as it is loaded, he claims the bracers of armor and notes his share of the rest of the wealth, though he has no way to carry it and leaves it in the chest for now. He then indicates to the others that he is ready to travel and mounts up on Krama as he considers what he knows of druidic ways. He feels he might be strong enough to try some of the more advanced talents druids are known for. He decided to try when next they rested.
Out of Character: : I will go update my character in the appropriate thread. Sorry for my MIA. I am back now. (See Party Thread for more details).
