Avan had no idea how long help would be or the next chance to meet his captor. He takes his time being careful and trying to avoid detection as he wears away the lock.
Out of Character: I was hoping for Albrecht to chime into the party thread, but no response yet.
In Character: Bastion gives it another half hour, spending time picking up what if any details he can through the fog. After that, he'll help everyone get back down off of the cliffs. Regrouped at the war wagon, the party will drive it around to the main entrance of the gnoll/draconid settlement. When they get near, they'll turn the vehicle around, and slowly back it up towards the entry.
Since his size would make it easy to take cover, Bastion would ask Albrecht to drive the wagon, while Rivoril and Arilynia ride within to fire out of the arrow slits. Bastion will ride his horse alongside, using the bulk of the wagon for his own cover as best he can.
When the group gets close, the warforged will yell out a challenge for the draconids to come out and talk.

Rivoril, complies with Bastions directions, gets ready his short bow, loading it with an arrow. He, has a flask of acid ready, within reach to throw if necessary.
Peering out through the arrow slit of the wagon, watching for the enemy to approach. Doing his best to stay silent, concealed, with very little movement offered.
Out of Character: Will only use the acid flask, against what would look like a leader. As a secondary ranged attack. Sorry Dai, only got one flask of this. I'm going to post a couple of rounds of rolls, not knowing the enemies response time, to Bastions call?
After hearing Bastion's shouting, Avan looks around, hoping the guards are distracted and unable to see what he's doing. He redoubles his efforts with the acid, speeding up. He is no longer afraid to use it all up, as he has a set of Thieves Tools for lockpicking as backup.
Out of Character: If observed directly, Avan does nothing. Move Silently is rolled for quietly pouring acid and/or lockpicking, which already includes a +5 bonus from Boots of Elvenkind.
Bastion crosses his arms, "We will not place ourselves at your mercy. Your sentries above were dispatched rather easily, and that was just with three. You may have captured the druid, but two others have taken his place."
"Tell your master that we came here to eliminate gnolls, not knowing that you had them under your control until it was too late but to press on. If Avan is released to us, we will pay a ransom and be on our way without further bloodshed. If he is not, you will discover just how much damage we can do. Perhaps you can defeat us, perhaps you cannot. Even if you can, how many more people can you afford to lose?"
If the draconids don't seem able to speak common, Bastion will write this message on the scroll and hand it to them.

If there are no enemies around, Avan sees no problem putting his hands out the cage. If they're nearby but attention is turned away, he still attempts it. Of course this is only when the acid is depleted and has been unsuccessful in dissolving the lock.
