Rivoril, accompany's Arilynia with talking to the locals, finding out if they had heard of any particular problems arround here.
Out of Character: Likewise will assume that, he didn't spot or find anything along the way, to the village Swaith. Except for the foreboding graveyard, and ancient ruins of a large city. Will re-roll search and gather information again here.
Avan keeps an even more wary eye out, knowing that threats could easily lurk in overgrown fields. The jackal begins sniffing around for threats and Avan tells him (Speak with Animals) to growl if he smells rotting flesh nearby.
Before reaching the village Avan dismounts and makes sure to stay at the rear of the party, ordering his companion to stay at the perimeter of the village.
Out of Character: Just updated HP, saves, skills, and spells for losing the Amulet of Health and gaining the Periapt of Wisdom, so some things have changed.
I look at Rivoril and say, "Maybe I should have acquired some peasant clothes while we were in the city, it seems the villagers are not used to seeing a female ranger… or is it our companions they fear… anyway; let's go check at the Inn up ahead and see if we can gather any information."
Rivoril, listens to Arilynia and agrees with the plan.
"Yes, perhaps we need to find out what's going on, by checking out the Inn first," Rivoril answers.
Out of Character: Rivoril, searches for anyone in the Tavern, that knows about the undead problem. Or looks like, they would know, all the while, gathering information.
"I think they are just wary of all strangers in these times," Avan suggests. "Someone truly terrible must have come through here to cause them to cower like this. I suspect I've met her though this could be unrelated.
"We may have to do an odd job or two to earn their trust. Perhaps an act of charity is in order?"
Avan wolf whistles loudly, commanding his jackal to his side. He wouldn't want the fearful folk to mistake it for an active threat. Then he looks around the central square of the town. He searches in particular for a temple or chapel, and a town hall or lord's manor.
Looking at Avan and agreeing, "You may be right in that aspect. Someone or something has made these villagers cower in fear. Maybe the ruins and graveyard beyond holds the answers, let's see what we can find out from anyone willing to listen. We can offer any help we can do, even in the fields, for they look like they need tended. We may also gather some info by listening for any odd noises out there. Perhaps our Cleric, senses something or your Jackal?"
Rivoril, addresses the human in the Inn.
"Hello, my name is Rivoril and would you care to elaborate on this presence that you are referring to,"?
"What exactly, is scaring away travelers, and causing Farmers to leave their farms,"? He adds.
"Because, we may be able to help," Rivoril says.
While Rivoril addresses the human, Arilynia goes to the door and calls out to Bastion to come join us. Once he gets close she informs him that the people of the village think we are part of some bosses 'gang'.
Once we are inside, Arilynia also addresses the human in the Inn," I'm Arilynia. Rivoril, Bastion and myself along with one other came here to help. We do not know of the boss to which you speak. I and I am sure those I arrived with don't wish for the people of this village to live in fear."
If we can help in anyway, we will; if you would care to elaborate on what has happen to the people of here and why the farmers wish to not tend their fields?"
