Beast prides himself in his little accomplishment about saying the horse could be a familiar. Then starts to wonder if there are any deers that got struck by lightning.
SA: Beast checks for any dead deer from the lightning and if not he like starts following the road back to the farm we last left.
ooc: Lionel you do your thing, we're like heading back to the farm.
1. Namdar (after everyone else's turn, I think)
Namdar stumbles to a confused, floundering halt before almost slamming into the horse as the figure disappears in a flash. What had the mage dropped, and why? Did he fall onto it, was it an object? Was it a spell, did he use some sort of mystical portal to escape?
"What in the name of ..." he mutters, looking at the otherwise presumably docile animal now bereft of rider, and wonders how this will end, now having the horse of the Duke's advisor...
"Alright, well... Let's not dawdle, there may well be soldiers coming to check on this is anyone heard our ruckus. Get the horse out of sight - or do we offer it and say we found it wandering alone? I have no idea how to explain the lightning-struck trees, freak storm maybe?
This simple quest for gold and protecting innocents twists like a Denadrian dune snake; I think I speak for all of us when I say we've had enough of this, I can only see us digging ourselves deeper in, the more we meddle in things beyond our station.
I will return to the Duke's in the guise of royal attendant and inform Lionel of developments and tell him what we're doing, he can either come back, if he has his information by then, or stay, as he chooses. I wish someone were with him, perhaps Skedvick; I wouldn't worry so much if it wasn't for the fact the Duke's advisor just tried to grill me like a steak. I don't like Lionel being there but he's his own person so it's up to him. Although I only just got him and he would be nice to have, I'll at least leave Grue for Lionel if he DOES need him.
Anyone else have any thoughts before we continue on back to the farm?"
Oliron gathers his arrows and sword while listening to Namdar. He smiles glad to see him back in charge and feeling lucky to be alive.
ooc: I don't particularly mind where we go. Though I think we need to try and find more orcs to kill. Originally I think we were going south to intercept this hooded guy. Sense he teleported or whatever I wonder if we should instead head north. That is were the large orc said he was going to raid more farms. Honestly I don't care a whole lot one way or the other. Just glad we lived threw that last encounter. Good job all
ooc: I"d be glad to post in platy leader thread, if it will not cause any confuse for those in, and out of, game. With two people are posting, and all. I"m going to have Lionel stay if it is alright with everyone, it would be helpful to have someone there to watch my back, but I am also willing to do this alone as well.
Wondering why no one seems to bother about the item the hooded figure dropped he seems to try to make sense of what had happened. Sniffing around again for the smell of gunpowder trying to see what caused the smoke that aided the hooded figure in disappearing. (alchemy check and spell craft roll to see what happened alchemy at 26 spell craft at 19, modifiers added). he tries to examine the object (or whats left of it) without turning to it as not to draw the attention of the group.
Then he hears all this talk about familiars and magical creatures and fear of the familiar and makes him wonder... Are the secrets of my order now common knowledge and even the sacred bond with creatures of magic is now to be laughed at? He restrains himself and says nothing. Not wanting to reveal himself as a wizard just yet he fakes surprise.
"Oh what a trick, I have traveled long and far in my days but never seen the likes of it. Obviously that figure is a wizard of great power to vanish like that in the thin air. If I may inquire what has happened here? I did learn something in my travels that is not to jump into conclusions. I hope I did not arrive into the middle of a witch hunt cause usually the newcomer is the one to pay the bride."
(OCC: I hope he did not cast invisibility to prepare for another round of thunderbolts If he did the difficulty for recognizing the spell will be 22, 17 base +5 for not seeing the gestures as opposed to my roll of 19 so I wont know
And there used to be a nice skill named scrying in the Players handbook could not find it in the generator has it been removed?)

OOC: I think I'm going to side with Lionel on this one. Look, sure, the orc hunting is a good way to make gold and exp, but what happens when you stop finding orcs? You'll have nothing to do, no guide as to where to go, and events will have proceeded without you, so you will have no idea where to go to jump back into the main storyline. To me, it makes more sense to finish things here with the duke, and then decide what is best. Though those orcs heading north to rape and pillage need to be dealt with ASAP, I don't think we could catch them. Maybe we should split up again, but just remember to keep all the characters being posted at the same time. So Jpatt will still be the leader, and post everyone's movements and decisions, even though we're spread out over a large distance.
We have two horses currently, so I think it makes sense to send our two best combat units to deal with the orc raiders, if only to slow them down or to get the orcs chasing them. Then we send our best NPC interaction characters into the castle with Lionel to find out as much information as they can, and to gain any quests or tasks as they can. Then the rest of our combat units should follow the riders on foot. The few we send in to see Lionel can tell him of what happened, and the two groups, combat and non-combat, can decide where to meet up later. As long as both get updated simultaneously, rather than inside-outside, then we should be fine.
ooc: this two party thing just isn't working out, it drags on. Maybe we should split into two official groups and use like our own thread and yo guys have yours.
Rentok before we even started we had the choice of three adventures. Whatever you guys like want to do I'll just follow I guess.
OOC: I'm just speaking from the other campaign I'm in. It is a large and in depth campaign, so often the party splits up to accomplish multiple goals. Like, there was a 1v1 tournament going on at an arena, and there was also a small quest to accomplish. Most of us went on the quest, a few entered the tourney, and the wizard went and learned a couple spells at the library. Then we all met up afterward to complete the quest as one group, and continued on. Sometimes you need to split up in order to accomplish everything.
