Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Play By Post Party Thread - Page 180

Namdar had previously signed up, and mentally checks off the signups after parting amiably with the elven lass Krusten as she headed back to her people.

Namdar
Oliron
Vilikin
Ashar
Beast (I presume)
Pundit (I presume)

He nodded to himself, standing and looking at the caravan to Nevestral. 400 gold per person for a successful round trip to get supplies to and from the town. Those were vital supplies indeed, thought the half-orc to himself, scratching his scrabbly chin.

Namdar meets the group at the tavern that night before the caravan's departure the following morning to ask opinions and offer a vote to anyone else for party leader. "Life comes at its speed," he says as he sips honeyed lemon-apple cider, sitting around the table with the others.

"I merely represent the general will and intent of the party, as is the role of the leader, and anyone else may do it what cares to - it is no slight to me."

He props his booted feet up on a nearby empty chair and reclines in his, eyes half-closed, listening to the tavern's din and the others at the table, as the night wears on.

"Either way, we need to make sure to get rest tonight and whoever is leader in the morning make sure we all get to the caravan on time to start our jobs."

Ryorst follows the party, and looks at the paper uncertainly.

"Umm... Can someone sign my name there for me? I... Can't read."

Of course, Ryorst. Now is that with a 'y' or an 'I' - oh, never mind, I'll just do my best.

"Riorsed" is inscribed upon the list in an elegant flowing script.

OOC: As to party leader, I felt that JPatt was doing a fine job - I think that it was just some delays from the GM that were causing the hitch in this case. Still, if he tires of the thankless job then I am willing to take over (even though I haven't been with the party for long - or long on this site).

I assume that nothing else is transpiring this night, so after a few cups of mead and a few tunes played for the tavern, Ashar will retire for the night with excited dreams of adventure.

OOC: Um, there's no room for error. The "y" is pronounced as in yak, not as in silly. So, umm... Yeah, sorry about that misunderstanding, I guess. Please take this into consideration in the future. And... Yeah, whatever.

OOC: Rentok - I hope you realize that what Ashar said was in character! I assumed Ryorst had never seen his name spelled and that he therefore probably wouldn't care how it was spelled on the list.

Beast does not need to sign anything. He grunts and the contract is accepted. His reputation preceeds him.

"Seeing that I have a carriage and we are riding on the carriages do I need to take mine?"

He looks at the others wondering what to do next.

OOC: I know, I was pointing out that, having heard Ryorst's name PRONOUNCED, in character, he could not have made that mistake. Also, does anyone mind if Ryorst rides up front? I think he's the only one without a horse.

OOC: Assuming I'm still leader...

Namdar surreptitiously rolls his eyes and nudges Grue forward and nods to the lead wagon driver. "Ryorst here will ride up front as resident guard, the rest of us will ride escort. Twelve wagons. This poor northern city is in dire straits for sure for this amount of supply to be sent in one shot. You all are good and brave people risking your lives as well to get it there. We'll make the city and see the citizens get their things."

He also frowns inwardly at the size of this caravan. He hadn't expected it to be so huge - he thoughts maybe a couple of wagons, which they could justify stopping to hunt for the Earl, but this likely would not present that option. He shook his head wistfully, again thinking to himself it's been months since the Earl was heard from anyway - six days likely wouldn't make much difference.

With that, the half-orc allows his black warhorse to fall back into a stroll alongside the wagon, and he keeps an eye ahead of the road though he knows it will likely be a while before they will enter any territory where they will need to be truly watchful. He adjusts his pouch of gold coins and sighs somewhat dejectedly - they are doing good, and something different, but somehow even all these coins seem an empty reward while danger and death wreak havoc across the lands just out of sight.

OOC: Any thoughts or actions or anything, post while we're starting out so we can indicate the next Party action and I can post in the PL thread.
