Yes I think the escort might be good as I feel an unnatural balance here that needs to be righted and this might show where it exists. now good friends might we best to look into some mounts for this escort then?

Lets ask about and if possible we rent/borrow from the caravan.

All this looks good to me especially the questioning of the town folk for information. Someone with high charisma should do plenty good and getting information.

Of course I think about food. You can't cast a half good spell with a hungry rumbling tummy. Just imagine summoning a monster and your mind crosses the pot roast you smelt in the tavern and suddenly your summoned monster that was meant to aide you in battle turns out to be a leg of lamb with mushrooms and gravy.

Nothing wrong with a full tummy *Whips greases from his lips with a cloth* Orcs are plenty seen prints every where I traveled in the woods. Almost as if they are staging in the area some where.
