D&D Play By Post Solo - Page 47

You find yourself soon at the edge of the woods. Ahead of you the hills continue to rise into the mountains known as the western range. Off to your right you can see a valley with the lights of some type of settlement far below. To your left all you see is trees but you know that a few days travel will take you back to hence you came from. North, behind you the permafrost of the cold northern mountains beckon you. But you know that many of your tribe have went there never to return. South you figure is the way to go for now. Into the mountains or maybe down to that village. The choice is a tough one to make.

Faerra looks at her diminishing food supply and sighs. She decides she doesn't want to have to head out into the hills or mountains with only a week's worth of food, and that the village is as good a place as any to find... Something to do.

She heads off to the unknown village, wondering what to expect.

international QUOTE (KNtoran @ 8-Sep 10, 6:47 PM)
Interesting tale she says after your done.  But you know now that I am the real power behind the Orcs.  They do as I say and attack who I tell them to attack.  My uncle is just the go between.  He is the one who takes the gold to the orcs.  Even though he makes it look like it is the Dukes brother.  That is why they leave that farm alone.  I also know who it was who summoned that foul beast that destroyed your home.  It was my mentor and trainer in the arts of wizardry.  He was a bastard off spring that was shunned from your fathers kingdom.  The loathing that grew in his soul as he watched his half brother rise to power and have the perfect wife and family ruling over his perfect little kingdom.  What did he get?  he got nothing until he made a pact with the devil himself for power and mastery.  Now I am in the one with the power and this kingdom here will become mine.  The duke is nothing more than a pawn.  IF you wish to be a part of this you will have to do as I say when I say it or I will crush you like a little bug.  Do you understand what I mean?

Lionel bows his head somewhat, and ponders what Lady Natasha just said, both his understanding and anger being very clear. Lionel takes a deep breath, calming himself. He looks back up at the women that stood before him, his eyes almost completely black. Lionel smiles his twisted smile, he laughs before saying.
"I see"¦ yes I do understand, and I would be willing to do what you say," Lionel with a partial bow. "I would now thank you for giving me the information you did, and taking me a step closer to one of my goals. I ask you, do you have any problems with me eventually killing your mentor and having my revenge when I grow in my magical abilities to the extent needed to do so, and I ask, would I have your word that no harm will come to my sister when she is eventually found" Lionel asked Lady Natasha.

ooc: Ouch. This has just gotten very complicated and deadly. You have put Lionel into a real bind, if he refuses, I feel that she will not hesitate to kill him. If he accepts though, it could be more dangerous still. Thanks for making thing challenging (I think). I just hope Lionel lives long enough to accomplish his goals and also keep his friends as well.
One thing though, don't you mean "a devil" not 'the devil", as there is a whole plain filled with devils?

OOC: Yes I know what I said and if you talk to any of the demon lords they will brag that they are the true ruler of the hells. smile.gif

IC: Lady Natasha smiles and tells you that your sister is doing just fine. You need not worry about her at all. SHe then takes out a book and hands it to you. Study this daily for the next month and I will see you then. She turns her back on you as she walks towards the door.

Rentok - The trip down into the valley takes a few hours. When she first passes by a farm house that has a couple cows and a few chickens her mouth waters.

"Wait, has not the Duke wondered where I have gone," Lionel asked, "Also what do you mean, my 'sister is doing just fine" and that I "need not worry about her at all". Are you saying that you know exactly where she is and how she is doing?"

ooc: What kind of game are you playing? *gives incredulous look* Please don't tell me I"m going to regret having my character have someone he care deeply about and that is still alive. A common thing is for a DM to do is put said NPC into grave danger by which PC's actions are effect and altered.
Also are you saying Lionel will need to spend a month before any progress is made?

Faerra wonders at the intelligence of a farmer that does not guard his animals... his juicy, meaty, helpless animals... Perfect for cooking over a low fire, or chopping up and putting in a stew... She shakes her head to clear away such thoughts. She doesn't have her tribe to aid her now, and if she were to get caught, the whole village would likely be after her... But surely one juicy, tender chicken wouldn't be missed... She shakes her head again, and puts thoughts of banditry out of her mind. For now.

She wonders if she has enough coins for a meal at an inn or tavern, and continues to town.

The Lady Natasha just smiles over her shoulder and simply says yes as she walks out and the door closes.

OOC: A month in the playing world can go real quick. All is this is to frustrate you as a character. Is it working? biggrin.gif

Lionel sighs in frustration as he starts reading, though his mind does wander to his sister (a lot).
ooc: Yes in and out of character. Have the time go by now if you wish. Also I had added to my last post in the Questions thread right before you posted.
