You bury your axe into the second man threw the door neatly cutting him in two. He falls to the floor with a astonished look on his face. The third man through the door quickly moves to the side in hopes of avoiding your axe. His success is short lived as Maddie places a arrow into him. He is pinned to the wall and gasping in pain. The fouth man through swings wildly at you but misses. You miss on your return strike. Maddie places another arrow into the man pinned to the wall. He slumps but is held up by the two arrows.
He smiles as he swings at you again striking you for 5 points damage. This causes you to miss on your strike. The fifth guy comes in swinging but slumps down as a arrow sprouts from his chest. The last guy stumbles in looking around. That stumble saved his life as a arrow thuds into the wall where his head used to be. You swing back at the fourth guy connecting with him as you axe lodges into his chest. The sixth guy off balance and stumbling towards you manages to use you as a place to sheath his long sword. (can not believe I rolled a natural 20 on that). You take 14 points of damage. The last you see is a arrow appearing in his head and hear Maddie yelling your name.
OOC: I think that puts me at... -8 HP. Still technically alive. I have 2 turns to try and roll a save, and Maddie could make heal checks to stabilize me in that time as well. Here's hoping. I believe the rules for self-stabilization are that I have to roll d% and a result from 1-10 stabilizes. Not sure on what the heal check DC is for Maddie.
Unmodified D%: 42, 2
... No, seriously. I... I actually made it? That puts me stable at -9 hp. Unless Maddie stabilizes me herself before that. I mean, if I'm doing my math right of course. 16, +2 from rage at the time of the first hit, -7 from the hit, -5 from the hit, -14 from the hit. 18-7=11. 11-5=6. 6-14=-8
Or I could be forgetting something. Do you roll to check criticals? Meaning, even on that nat 20, he still had to then roll a SECOND d20 and beat my AC on THAT for it to be a crit. Or do you rule just by the first nat 20?
I just really want to survive this. This campaign is probably the most fun I've had playing D&D since... Well, since the other best-campaign I'd been playing died off due to lack of interest.
Faerra slowly opens her eyes and sees John looking at her. He looks to his side and says she is coming around. You see Maddie come into your filed of vision and tell you that your safe and recovering just relax and you will be better soon. SHe leaves again. John smiles at you and says lucky for us my little Maddie has the healers touch. He moves out of you field of vision. Turning your head you can see that your in a room on a bed that is both comfortable and large. The only things in this room that you can see is a washbasin, a wardrobe and dresser besides the bed. There is a window to one side and a door to the other. You can see that it is daylight outside. You have no clue how long you were out. You can feel bandages around where your wounds used to be.
