Rentok: Maddie smiles as you say that. She does tell you that she would talk to John in the morning and he may head to town to get some supplies. SHe also tells you that she is ok with a dagger or short sword but prefers the bow.
Rockman18: You are on the plains and they can se you as well as you can see them. There seems to be three of them and they are looking your way right now. It appears two of them have bows. They seem to be talking to each other as they watch you watching them.
As I come up over the slight rise and see there tents and them I curse myself for not waiting till the cover of darkness to do my scouting. I slowly raise my hands and continue to make my way towards there camp without making any sort of threatening gestures. When I get within shouting distance I yell that I am just a traveler looking for work, whether it be by my muscles or my axe.
Faerra nods, "I'll make you a blade as well then. I'll leave it up to you which you would rather have. It will give me something to do, a way to work my strength back up, and it'll give me a bit of peace of mind, knowing you have good quality gear protecting you."
Rentok: John was able to get the supplies you need and for the next few weeks you are able to work on armor and a short sword for Maddie. The nights are quiet and peaceful except for a few wolves or a bear that wanders into the farm area. The bears you and Maddie are able to scare off while the wolves are met with bow and axe. Faerra is now second level with 1,050 experience.
Rockman18: The men yell back at you. Yeah we can help you out. Why do you just give us your weapons and gold and we will let you experience being robbed. You can head back to the village and earn more coins to bring and give to us. The others laugh as he says this and then look at you to comply.
I quickly decide with my failure to wait till nightfall and my feeble attempt at diplomacy failing to work and not liking the odds, especially with them holding the high ground, that I will turn tail and run away. If all else fails and I can't elude them then I will use my knowledge of the terrain will help me find a suitable spot to either hide and wait for darkness or to make a stand that will help even the odds.

Faerra beams proudly as she gives Maddie her finally-finished sword and armour. She is proud of her work, and glad it turned out so well.
"I hope you like them, Maddie. I think they are some of my finest work, though I'm sure I still have a long way to go before I can call myself a master."
Rockman18: You are able to turn and run. You hear laughter following you as you run back towards the village. Soon you are where they no longer can see you and you feel safe that they are not chasing you.
Rentok: The nights are full of talking as you get to know Maddie better. You find out she was found as a small child wandering in the woods. SHe was less than two. She has no real idea of who her mother and father were. She does remember a elf lady with long bluish hair and grey eyes. SHe can not tell you if that was her mom or not. She grew up on this farm and has fallen in love with the area and the humans she considers her family. She is very happy with the sword and the armor and she will even train with you for a half hour to hour every evening.
It is about two weeks later that John informs you and Maddie that while he was in town getting supplies he over heard a few people talking about a group of men who are in the area to find and capture a dark elf woman who has lived in the area for more than 6 years. He believes that they were referring to Maddie. Seems there is a good amount of gold on who ever can bring her to the city of Frathain on the far inland sea.
After running for what feels like forever I think that I am far enough to be safe. I am going to hunker down and hide until dark. After that I will make my way stealthily back towards there camp and assess the situation. I will hopefully be able to sneak attack them with the advantage of the cover of darkness and the element of surprise.
Hide roll 1D20+6=20
Move Silently 1D20+7=27, second roll=16. Don't know if I needed that since the first was natural 20 or not so I just threw it in there in case.
