I see the cave and decide to go down and check it out and hopefully discover what the tracks were made by. Although now that I think about it they could have been made by the very cart that is being pulled along beside me right now.
Rockman18: As you head down the hill towards the cave you begin to see a glow inside the cave. And yes if you look the tracks of the trail fit perfectly with the wheels on the cart that is behind the horse. You find that you do not have to lead the horse as it seems very familiar with this trip.
When I get within a hundred feet or so from the entrance I will stop the horse so as not to hopefully make to much noise and swing around where I can see directly into the cave without getting too close. I will prep my crossbow and have it in hand just in case.
Faerra hefts her axe into place and puts the rations with the rations she brought with her in the first place. She matches her pace to Maddie's as they walk. She says nothing unless Maddie speaks, letting Maddie have silence if she wants it. Faerra lets her hand swing loosely, perfect for grabbing if Maddie wants to warn her of something, or just hold hands.
She remembers back to when SHE had to leave everything she knew behind. Maddie may be older than her, but Faerra didn't want to let anyone go through that unsupported.
Rentok: Maddie is silent as you track off to the north and east. She seems a little down but at the same time she is being very watchful of the area the two of you transverse. After about three hours she stops and looks back. Then asks you how did you leave those you cared about?
Rockman18: I need rolls for move silent, and sneak up.
Faerra turns to look at Maddie, and holds out her hand to her. "I didn't have any choice. I think it would have hurt a lot more if I had cared for them more, though. I never really had anyone I cared deeply for, but it still hurt when I had to leave. I was hurting really bad, but then, I found someone I eventually came to care for, and things wee OK... Until I was forced to leave on my own again. That hurt even more than the first time, and honestly, I don't think I'd have been able to keep going for very long if I hadn't found you." She sighed and paused to look up at the sky for a while before continuing. "You just keep putting one foot in front of the other, one hand over the next. Keep moving until you can either accept the pain, or forget it. And remember, you're not alone. I'm here with you."
OOC: I didn't even see that I needed to roll sorry about that. I'm not sure if the sneak up is the same as move silently but I will just roll my move silent twice
Rolls for move silently: 1D20+5=15, 1D20+5=23
