What are you doing, have you considered a compromise, look just because this game hasn't gone as you expected doesn't mean you can't participate. I feel you are being a bit hasty. I have also given a post by Lionel in the Party Thread to the same affect, but in different words, just give this game a chance, you need to consider different ways of playing D&D, each of which can be fun in their own way.

I was wondering if you would allow this class.
Previously I've played nearly all the regular classes plus a pathfinder (I think that was a 2.5 or 3.0 class) and would like to either revisit him or do this archer.
First can you give us a bit more info of the Pathfinder Class, or this Archer Class, a site maybe? But in any case if the classes are 2.5 or 3.0 I would suggest the Scout Class from the Complete Adventurer handbook, you can find it on Scribd here: [..]
That, I would think would be your best bet, unless you want you character very underpowered, hope this help.
Its up to the GM but like I'm betting he won't be letting you have a character that ins't level one. While we're on the GM looks like he's having extended holidays and tomorrow is the last day of the year so we might not see him til 2010.
Bows get 2 attacks per round.
Any attack/to-hit roll with any weapon, melee or ranged, including hand-to-hand, is done with a D20, with a "natural 20" (without bonuses) being a critical hit, usually doing extra damage, and a natural 1 a fumble, with various possible negative consequences - most unarmored people with average Dexterity start out with a 10 armor class, which is what must be rolled or exceeded, on a 1D20 (plus your bonuses) to hit them.
Shortbows do 1D6 damage and longbows do 1D8.
Weapons, armor and equipment and their stats can be found here:
D&D Equipment Page
Now *I* have a question for KNtoran: What is with the 1D12 and 1D6 rolls? I think I understand the 1D6 is for initiative in combat, but I have never seen any flavor of D&D use 1D12 rolls for anything - usually it's a D20 for any sort of attribute or perception or any other kind of checks; is this something new?
