All righty then, Txtrpg has given the remaining group leave to make use of Zork's Warwagon. Except for Krusten, the rest of us appear to be interested in retrieving it for use as a mobile base of sorts. It took a while for me to find where you listed its statistics (Pg 53 main thread), but I have a few more queries. Largely in regards to what it would take to make certain modifications
Proposed modifications:
-Superior locks on both brakes and door.
-Installation of as many Chests of Holding we can fit inside there while keeping passenger space for at least 3 out of the 4 mentioned (Related query, are the chests shaped such they can be nested when we don't need their full capacity?)
-Application of permanent or at least long lasting fire retardant to any flammable surfaces, alchemical or otherwise.
-Exterior space for bulk storage (Primarily horse feed), I'm thinking either eyelets on top of the wagon to tie stuff down, or a simple towed cart that can be detached and abandoned in a pinch, preferably via a lever the driver can pull.
-Cable winch attached to the wagon frame, physically sturdy enough to pull the wagon's weight if properly set.
-Rear facing scorpion nest on roof (As in the small ballista rather than the arachnid), hoping for it to cover 120+ degree arc, with the operator able to securely sit/kneel while the wagon is moving, with paneling to provide at least half cover for the operator from behind.
I recognize the last one in particular is rather wild and unlikely. Also, not talking about doing all of that at once, just checking possibilities. Finally, what would be the thing's base speed? How much would that be improved by adding another pair of horses?

Outfitting superior locks to the door and the brake will take two weeks and cost 400 gold to remove the old and reinstall the new. The chests of holding can be stored inside as they are medium sized chests but will take some space so only two can ride inside. You can attach hooks to the top to allow added storage to tie things down but nothing larger that medium chests. No ballista or other siege weapon as it is too bulky and heavy, Adding stuff to the sides and back will hinder the use of the arrow slits and rear door.
A basic scorpion is closer in weight and bulkiness to a mounted heavy crossbow than a true ballista. It is an antipersonnel weapon. I'm uncertain size and weight would be a problem here, and am more concerned with the practicality of its use up there. Source 1x
As to fire retardant, I mostly meant something that can be slathered on to treat the wood rather than something physically capable of blocking off the arrow slits. In the technology era we're speaking of, one of the cheap options would be a mixture of unslaked lime and oil that is soaked into the material before heating both. Done right it would partially calcify the wood, but my understanding was the right mixture was quite elusive. I suspect that the alchemists of this realm have more reliable alternatives.

A tray to be able to move it about in a 120 degree arc and still have a person sit behind it will be too bulky or weight. You can put some weight on to but not a lot. As far as fire retardant they are not sure as they have not found wood that does not burn.a wand or staff of frost can counteract a fire.
