I have noted that you have activated the first gem. Remember a masterwork weapon gets a +1 to hit only.

Questions Post Play Dragons and Dungeons

Did Bastion, or any others listening in, get any kind of sense of Deanna's capabilities? I can live without knowing her spell list, but if she's a bookworm with only a marginal idea of how to apply her knowledge in the field, we have a problem that we'd prefer addressed now.

Looking at the equipment she is wearing you can see she has two rings on, bracers, a robe with a cloak and an amulet. Her stuff looks well used and she seems very confident with her abilities. She does not seem to be a braggart. She also has a backpack and some pouches.

In Character: Ildrahil seems to be content with their choice of spell casters.

Out of Character: I'm good with this. Let's go take on a Fort.

Questions Post Play Dragons and Dungeons

Wait a minute, Deanna thought it was less than 150 feet up? How high up there is it? A longbow can hit considerably further than that, even aiming upwards.

I never said she was good with distance. It is at least 900 feet up. She can hit something closer to that if she had another spell but she does not have that spell.

I see, next query. How much range would you give a longbow firing up like this?

By default, it can get out to 10 range increments for 1,000 feet, (Though it is taking a -18 penalty to do so) but that is horizontal distance, and I cannot find a rule for how it gets penalized for firing up.

Same rules You can fire it up but it will have the same -18 to reach that high. The horizontal range is that high because of how far you have to arch the shot. Straight up you are fighting gravity and you are not able to arc. If you wish to try to shoot the bird it will be at the -18 for the height it is at.
