FORMER DIPLOMATS CALL FOR BUSH OUSTER
The Bush administration's foreign policy in Iraq and elsewhere has been a
"disaster," and President Bush should not be re-elected, a group of former

Wouldn't Any Attack Influence Elections?
Homeland Security chief to warn of possible al Qaeda attack to influence U.S. elections, administration official.

I have been expecting to see some major attacks against the US ever since the attack in Madrid so strongly influenced that election. But I think that any such attacks would backfire on the terrorists, as it would reinforce our resolve for President Bush to destroy them.

I worry about "false alarms" leading to a "cry wolf" situation. I'm sure there will be more attacks, but I don't have a lot of confidence in the intelligence we receive. The terrorists know exactly how we operate -- what's to say they don't send out the "chatter" to distract us... and then don't do anything... and strike another time and place entirely.
So, I do hope that TPTB will prepare for the eventuality of attacks during the political conventions.... and I pray they are unnecessary -- or effective if they are necessary.
I agree with you, Nighthawk. Any attacks (at any time) will strengthen Bush's position.
In my opinion.

Will more terrorist attacks in the U.S. help Bush in November?
No matter what happens, it may be a win-win situation for Bush.
If the terrorists launch another major attack on our soil, the people will rally around their "wartime" president.
If the terrorists don't succeed in striking us at home again, it's because Bush has done such a great job of protecting the homeland.
HEADS he wins, TAILS we lose.
People need to realize it's a rigged coin.
Since from every perspective, GW Bush is a FAR better president and leader than Kerry could EVER be, that is a good thing.
Kerry would be an absolute disaster in matters of national security, since he has sworn to submit our sovereignity to the UN (thus to France, Germany, Russia, and China, none of whom has US interests high in their priorities), and has always voted to gut the military, without a single exception that I have heard of.
In matters of domestic policy, he has sworn to raise the minimum wage, which has always, without exception, proven to destroy many, many jobs and slow the economy. Bush has implemented many of the agenda items that the Left has been screaming about for years (which Clinton never even tried to do). Kerry has a lot of nice words, but shows that he is a socialist at heart with all of his works. His "plan" for universal health care is one good example.

Nighthawk, I couldnt agree with you more. What I want to add to the points you made is that Bush has surrounded himself with some of the best minds in the business, and I dont think Kerry could come even close to having people like Colin Powell, or Dick Cheney. It would be unfortunate if another Carter-Ford debacle were to happen where Kerry is re-elected because of dissent for Bush.
