Vietnam vets are planning a counter-conference if you will, to clear up the air regarding anti-war activism comments that John Kerry made earlier in his career, and has touched on many times in his presidential campaign:

QUOTE
A military-history organization is sponsoring a conference in Boston during the Democratic National Convention it hopes will dispel some of the "myths" anti-war activists, including candidate John Kerry, have spread about the Vietnam War......

Sponsored by the RADIX Foundation, it is being billed as "a veteran-funded, nonprofit, multicultural and non-political event." .....

"As Senator John Kerry is about to be nominated for president, in great part based on his Vietnam service," the conference website says, "it is important for the American people to understand what 'Vietnam' was really about and to dispel some of the common misconceptions about why we went to war, what we did, what went wrong, and why it mattered

I applaud the efforts of these 'true' wartime veterans as they choose to educate the American public on what really happened, and not rely on a piped up version from a presidential candidate who is taking advantage of the current country's disenchantment with war.

POLITICAL EXPERTS DON'T SEE CLOSE RACE

A national conference of state legislators wrapped up Friday with predictions that the President Bush/Sen. John Kerry election won't be as close as many now believe.

It is now believed that Bush has a slight edge in terms of electoral votes.

QUOTE
With three months remaining in a volatile campaign, Kerry has 14 states and the District of Columbia in his column for 193 electoral votes. Bush has 25 states for 217 votes, according to an Associated Press analysis of state polls as well as interviews with strategists across the country.

What I found also amusing was the fact that Kerry was booed at the Yankees-Red Sox game Sunday night while throwing out the ceremonial first pitch. To be booed at all in your own home state does not bode well. Should be interesting to watch some of the DNC convention tonight, and the rest of the week, to see what angle the campaign takes.

Well, you are not always a prophet in your own land wink.gif. It doesn't say really much, at least, to me....I just the feeling that both candidates are very close to each other, anyone can win.

And so the Democratic National Convention has been gavelled to order... and the long-winded speeches have begun. So far, they are mainly extolling the virtues of John Kerry and informing us what a great president he will be. Next will come the "Bush Bashing" sessions, and the official party platform.

It should be interesting, at least. Mrs. John Kerry has already told one reporter to "shove it" when she was being interviewed. biggrin.gif What a great First "Lady" she would make laugh.gif

In my opinion, of course.

Although I don't like Kerry at all, I do admire his wife. Much is being made of the fact that she told a reporter to "shove it." I say, good for her! They love to twist words and make things out to be more than what they are. She isn't going to let it happen. Perhaps they will "eat her alive," but I admire her for refusing to play the game.

Apparently, her recent outbreak were not the only words that are being quoted from Mrs. Kerry. The former Mrs. Heinz has been quoted from a book written in 1975, in which she lashes out at the Democratic Party and Senator Kennedy. Seems she is a feisty person, and heaven forbid she becomes first lady, it will be a very interesting 4 years listening to her interviews and public appearances.

PRESIDENT IS FUELING TERRORISM, KERRY SAYS

Democratic candidate John Kerry on Monday accused President Bush of encouraging terrorist recruitment with policies that have made the world angry at the United States, a criticism that Bush dismissed as a "ridiculous notion."
