Comments: Maybe you people will know this, what is the significance of the number 33 and the Freemasons.

There are 33 levels (degrees) in freemasonry, 33 being the highest any person can reach. I suppose that's what is so significant about the number.

I think they also believe that the number has to do with the spinal column of the human body which has 33 separate pieces of bone.

Depending on what side of Masonry you advance in you can gain up to a 33rd level. But any one can be a free mason by obtaining only the 3rd degree. You do not have to advance any higher.

As well as the above reasons there is also several religious links too, they believe 33 to be a power number as well as 11.

Some reasons I have heard is Jesus died at the age of 33 etc.
