I am glad to hear that. For me the past restriction was both stupid and hypocritical. Imagine the country that boasts itself about giving freedom, forbidden his own citizens to travel to a country if they wish to do so.

Well I dunno, I think it was more of avoiding conflict. Because think about it. Americans are known for going over to foriegn country's and making a complete fool of themselves. But a place like Cuba... America would be blamed for every single thing our tourists managed to accomplish. Because, I don't think many people in Cuba really like americans, but I have no proof to back that up.

Rather off topic, but... Albeit though a Tv show I was watching a while back, proved that the most rediculous american redneck couple going to france, well the people in france actually enjoyed them being there. The only people who hated that couple, were the americans who moved there. Said it was a bad example of American society. Still though, even the waiters and others who serviced the couple said that they would rather serve to these "Cowboys" than there french lot.

I think we can help Cuba become a more democratic country by reopening talks with them and allowing americans to visit cuba. Maybe make Gito bay prison a tourist site with tours.

I think it is a good first step in creating better relations. As far as changing the government well that will require trust of which I am betting there is very little with good reason.
