Canadians will now have to present a passport and visa to enter the US. What do you Canadians think about that? Is it ok or do you think they should just let you in? Do US citizens need a visa to enter Canada?

More money to go to the US in fees to track students:
FEDS SEEK FEE TO TRACK FOREIGN STUDENTS
The government plans to charge foreign students a $100 fee to pay for a tracking system created to prevent possible terrorists from using student visas to enter the country, a federal official said Wednesday.

I hadn't heard about this, but I am sure it is not because we have any thing against Canadians. Â We do consider them our friends. Â However, a number of the terrorists who flew out of Logan and crashed into the World Trade Centers on September 11 entered the US through Canada. Â If we don't require a VISA to enter through Canada then we need to rely upon Canada to prevent these people from entering their country in order to keep them from crossing into ours. Â If Canada doesn't see them as a threat to themselves it isn't likely they will put a lot of their resources towards this.
Heck, we see it as a threat to ourselves and I don't think we do a good job preventing it either, but this is probably a step in the right direction.
I do see this being a big pain though because a lot of Canadians live and work in the US and go home to visit quite regularly.

Yes, what happened in September 11th changed a lot of things and I don't blame them. Maybe some Canadian members here can tell us what they think about it
