I think the more and more that N. Korea gestures and threatens the more the international community is going to hog tie themselves to keeping them calm. I truly believe that N. Korea or Iran is going to start the next global war.

UN Security Council Fails to Reach Agreement on North Korea Rocket Launch

An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council Sunday failed to agree to a joint statement regarding North Korea's rocket launch over the weekend. The United States, Japan, South Korea and the European Union accused the North Korean regime of breaching UN resolutions that ban the country from carrying out ballistic missile activity and called for a strong and unified response. Speaking in the Czech Republic Sunday, President Obama said North Korea had "broken the rules" and called for new United Nations sanctions. Ref. Source 4

Well North Korea is saying that it is reprocessing nuclear fuel rods again. I think that this is going to put the world on edge again until perhaps China can get them to stop.

I love this...say you are sorry or we are going to blow a temporary hole in the sea or make a undergroud earth quake. Let's look at the history of this regime...

1985 N.Korea signs the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
1989 N.Korea (still not allowing inspections lined out in the NPT) appears to be building a nuclear facility and seems to be in the stages (and not hiding it) of making a bomb.
1992 N.Korea allows inspections...kinda...all but 2 facilities. They successfully block attempts by the inspectors to visit these 2 facilities. Thus, not following the NPT and still support the worldwide view that they are building a bomb. Former Secretary of State, James Baker, admits that they knew that N.Korea had a rudimentary atomic weapon during his stewardship ('89-'92).
1993 N.Korea threatens to pull out of the NPT. GUESS WHAT...you already had since you never followed it! SURPRISE! The Clinton administration temporarily satisfies N.Korea's problem (food and aid) along with S.Korea and N. Korea is back in the NPT! I feel better... Oh, but wait, Hans Blix then says that he can no longer guarantee that N.Korea is not producing weapons grade materials.
1994 N.Korea really gets what they want in full. Fuel oil, economic aid and 2 light water reactors in the document called the "Agreed Framework". In exchange, N.Korea agrees to shut down all their reactors and turn over all the spent fuel rods and plutonium processed. Wait, Hans Blix doesnt like the amount of time that it will give N.Korea to turn over the declared amount of nuclear materials! I smell something bad happening! Do you think that they might be hiding some?
1996 N.Korea still forgot to declare how much material they have? They probably just forgot, but they did appreciate the aid and the reactors that were under works!
1997 N.Korea contains spent fuel rods...still not quite hitting the mark of that "Agreed Framework" because no one still knows if that was all that was left. Opps, forgot to mention, they want to keep the rods there for protection. Probably no issue since they have agreed not to make a weapon!
1998 N.Korea accidentally fired a missle over Japan. Japan was not pleased and pulled 1 Billion in support of the light water reactors. Accidents happen!
2002 Construction begins on the "agreed" upon reactors. Not going to hit that 2003 target completion date...probably shouldnt have fired that missile? WAIT...later that year, the US uncovers evidence that N.Korea is processing weapons grade material. BUT HOW...they gave all of it back and sealed it up right? Opps forgot, they never did...they probably forgot too! WOW, N.Korea admits to actually making weapons grade material. End of year, N.Korea totally forgets everything and accidentally pulls down the cameras that are watching the sealed spent fuel rods. They then accidentally begin to process the material. The fuel oil and economic aid from years back is no where to be found...shocking...however, N.Korea is pretty unhappy the light water reactors are not completed so they need nuclear weapons.
2003 N.Korea threatens to use it nuclear weapon that they really dont actually admit to fully having. Lots of song and dance, but at the end of the year...N.Korea is willing to talk about the nuclear weapons and material in exchange for concessions (guess what they are?).
2004 Lots of 6 party talks...endless...in the end, N.Korea announces that they have converted 8000 fuel rods to weapons grade material! They forgot again that they promised not to do this...must have been a renegade commander or something.
2005 Lots of 6 party talks...endless...in the end, N.Korea announces they shut down Yongbyon reactor and are harvesting the fuel rods for more weapons. They forgot again. Someone should write a memo so they dont forget what they promised.
2006 N.Korea shoots lots of missiles into the sea. Accidentally, they set off a nuclear device. TAKE THAT AMERICA! Another UN Resolution is issued...N.Korea shakes in their boots and a collective cry of...NOT ANOTHER UN RESOLUTION...oh what will we do next!
2007 Windfall year for N.Korea. S.Korea sends over tons of aid and in return they shut down the Yongbyon reactor for good. Great news...more FUEL RODS for processing!
2008 N.Korea hands over lots of meaningless documents that seem to satisfy CNN that they are now a nation of love and caring!
2009 N.Korea launches a satellite or ICBM into space. UN doesnt make a resultion but rather a statement. OMG..a statement that we are bad! TAKE THAT BACK or we will blow something up...FISH OR SOMETHING UNDERGROUND!

Go ahead. Oh by the way, your leader looks and dresses funny too! Blow something up for that while your at it.
