Anger as US aircraft carrier heads for Korean waters:

The nuclear-powered USS George Washington, which carries 75 warplanes and has a crew of over 6,000, left a naval base south of Tokyo and would join exercises with South Korea from Sunday to the following Wednesday, US officials in Seoul said. Ref. Source 4

The exercises were told to N.Korea long ago. This ratcheting up of feined anger is for the payoff. N.Korea really has nothing behind them. China is preaching for everything to just stop and let it settle, but is definitely not willing to do much more than that on behalf of N.Korea. China is coming for a visit to the US soon and doesnt want this to take over the talks between the two countries...they have more of a self serving agenda than to spend the time talking about N.Korea. Actually, the Chinese are furious with the bombing that N.Korea has carried out. It puts them in a very defenseless position.

There might be a few more bombs tossed into the ocean, but the US and S.Korea will make sure that the exercises to not get near N.Korean waters. With all the eyes on this...no accidental torpedoing of ships is likely to occur. IMO

North Korea is making a play. They know we are pressed and are seeing if we will jump in.
I am sure we will if this continues but hopefully China jumps in before us.

N.Korea is out of their mind if they think they can just start bombing S.Korea.
USA will never stand for that.

I have already seen US propaganda of N.Korea having nuclear capabilities.

Honestly why is N.Korea even that tough. They have been cut off from the world and now some how have all this uranium and nuclear ability?

Without Chinese and Russian backing, the N.Koreans have to devise a plan to save face, prop up the up-coming dictator and get the aid that they are looking for to get through winter. Expect a threat of a nuclear test soon...

As usual everything has cooled down and the US aircraft carrier has left the vicinity. After doing this for the last ten decades is the US really going to send supplies to North Korea to feed her own people when North Korea could just divert all the military spending towards something more constructive?

Actually, yes and it will also be supplies from the UN as well. S.Korea and the US are dragging their feet to join 5 party talks (as they should) with a goal of paying off the N.Koreans, yet again.

However, the payoff is cheaper than going to war. There are some that believe if Kim Jong Il dies too soon, his son wont be ready to take lead and there may be a military takeover of the country. So, some believe that the N.Korean government might just self-destruct and are willing to pay them off in food and fuel every year or two to see what happens.

I am guessing that is our militaries intention. We just finished up in Iraq. Now the North Koreans want to play. Seems a little to coincidental. Why didn't they attack while we were in Iraq? Makes more sense to attack when we are stretched.

It's crazy but I wonder if our own government had a hand in the recent attack.
