U.S. Tells North Korea rights abusers 'you cannot hide any more':
The top U.S. Human rights official took to a stage with two young North Korean defectors on Wednesday and warned North Korea the United States would step up pressure on the country to end human rights abuses and that perpetrators "Cannot hide anymore." Ref. Source 9
President Barack Obama told CNN's Candy Crowley in an exclusive interview that Americans will not give in to threats or cyberattacks like the one made by North Korea on Sony Pictures.
"This is a matter of setting a tone and being very clear that we're not going to be intimidated by some ... Cyber hackers," Obama said. "I expect all of us to remember that and operate on that basis going forward."
Obama said the cyberattack by North Korea was a serious offense. "No, I don't think it was an act of war. I think it was an act of cyber vandalism that was very costly, very expensive. We take it very seriously. We will respond proportionately." Ref. CNN
The United States is hitting North Korea with a new set of economic sanctions after determining the country was behind last month's computer hack at Sony.
The White House said new rules would prevent leaders in North Korea's government from accessing property and entering the United States. North Korea, which has denied involvement in the Sony hack, was already subject to a strict set of U.S. Economic restrictions.
The FBI has maintained that North Korea was behind the broad computer breach at Sony, despite evidence from some technology experts that points, instead, to former employees of the studio. Ref. CNN

North Korea needs to be taught a lesson that they're not so powerful as the think they are. Just because they have a massive grounded army doesn't mean they can stand up to areal pounding. If things weren't so volatile in the middle east I bet we would be doing that already.

North Korea has moved up the launch window for a test rocket by one day, the South Korean Defense Ministry said. The new window, which was also narrowed, is February 7 - 14; the old window was February 8 - 25. The areas where debris would fall remain unchanged. Ref. CNN.
