Yeah, well if they don't figure it out there will be a very destructive war. Here's the thing, even though they may not want to fight, eventually the two bullies do fight. I'm hoping China intercedes and convinces NK they can't win this one. But it appears China doesn't have as much sway as they thought they did.
No, and it looks even worse for South Korea. No matter what else happens if there is war, the chance they don't lose tens of thousands and have much of their country north of Seoul devastated is slim. I'd say less than a five percent chance. The only way I see it happening differently is if the North's army basically either evaporates or mutinies on day one.
Yes, but I fear the units they do have manned and ready are all those artillery units on the border. And as heavily dug in 9hardened in military parlance) as they are it would take a major assault to dislodge them. And all the while they'd be firing on South Korea indiscriminately.

Comments: This saber rattling by NK is just that. The Leader wants world attention. He has no plans to escalate this provocation and will continue to just give to the world- and more so USA "hickies"- just gumming the SK, Japan and US. Keep a tight rein on him and we will be safe.
The US calculates that the missile North Korea fired early Sunday landed in water 60 miles south of Russia's Vladivostok region, a US official tells CNN. The intended trajectory of the projectile is not yet known; the US is continuing to analyze data for further details. Ref. CNN.
North Korea's missiles are notoriously inaccurate. This may not be anywhere near the intended target. Making their missiles more accurate is a desired outcome of these tests as well as longer range. It makes no difference if they can reach Hawaii if the land 500 miles south.
