I deeply feel sorry for the Iraqui people, for the single mothers, for the children who will die...it breaks my heart and bring tears to my eyes just to think about the lives that will be lost, the innocent civilians. |
Want to know what the Arabs think about all of this?
From Arab News:
Editorial: An Illegal and Immoral War
18 March 2003 When American Secretary of State Colin Powell stated yesterday that the Security Council had failed to pass a test set by the United States, a new Gulf War became inevitable. It was, of course, a test the Security Council never stood a chance of passing.

I agree. But also the Iraqui people are hoping we do depose Saddam. We all know what he has done to them, and althought they don't want war, if it comes, they are praying that one of those bombs drops on him. |

JB,
That was a good article.
The author was on the money about most aspects.
The illegal and immoral part I disagree with.
There is no such thing as legality in that area and morals are a matter of which end of the gun barrel you're standing on.
But, I did agree that Powell made a move that could not possibly be complied with, that the war is (at least in part) about oil, and that the US is being arrogant. What can I say?
Both you and LDS have reminded me so many times how arrogant we are, I have just quit worrying about it and walk around pushing little old ladies into traffic.
But lest we stray too far in one direction, several Arab countries have given the US flyover rights, troop access, etc.
It's not all onesided, my friend, as much as you would love it to be.

Folks,
I am having some misgivings about this entire project.
The more I look at it, the more I keep asking myself
What, all of a sudden set Bush off about Iraq?
I'm afraid the answer is Iran. I'm afraid The Joint Chiefs have more to do with this than we imagine.
We all were appraised of Iran's new nuclear plant recently. They have been watching it from the beginning.
Iraq will provide the launching point for an incursion into Iran. The only way in.
I think I'm beginning to smell a rat here.
Well yes JB, he said that before in another post. I will not be surprise of that Stranger. I don't smell one rat here only but several of them. Something is not quiet right.
