Comments: China has no reason to fight the USA, but the USA has a reason to fight China. The US is by far the largest consumer of Chinese goods, and the largest provider of food to china. The US being removed from the equation means the booming economy of China fails, and you would also see mass starvation, and quite possibly an incredible upswing in government brutality and aggression towards its neighbors to meet its needs for resources. The population of china is divided between the urban and rural. The rural Chinese historically are the ones to revolt, and in the event of a large scale war would be the most called upon for military service (kind of like the Ukrainians were cannon fodder for the soviet union). The rural Chinese would see that they are growing the food, doing the fighting, and are still being left behind by the government and would rise up again as they have before. If it ever did come to a military conflict between the US and china and stayed conventional (nuclear is a no-win situation for all involved), the Americans have the upper hand. Look at our casualties vs other soviet equipped countries (Iraq). Granted the Chinese do have higher end equipment than the iraqis, but it still wouldn't be enough to make up for the vast technological advantages of the US. Plus in a war against a truly powerful nation like china, you'd see all the secret weaponry come out that the US has. 500 billion dollar a year budget has to buy some pretty cool toys.

Comments: first of all, we have a lot of antimatter, enough to kill everyone in Asia with one bomb, literally. Second, we have the worlds largest and most effective airforce and navy, though lagng in the army, thats not as important because the army can simply be bombed with almost no resistance (like they could resist a Raptor, let alone detect it) third, we can wipe out all electricity by, you guessed it, bombing the three gorges darn, and would cause a rebbelion within the nation. fourth, I don't care how big theyre army is, its air superiority that counts because that alone can destroy entire countries without nukes if you know what your doing.

Iraq

Did we win due to US air superiority? Vietnam is a L. Korea is a T. Iraq is a shock and awe! The only awe is that we are STILL there and the shock is HOW MUCH IT IS COSTING US DAILY! Today we have tons of superiority of all varieties in Iraq with lots of toys. Since there are constant insurgents that preclude us from fully leaving, have we really won? Sure, we have a puppet government with enormous issues, because the people within the country hate each other.

China has nuclear weapons. They have had them for a long time. China is not a rogue state that might just have a couple. They have enough to get passed whatever currently exist as a sheild. Drop just one on Disneyland and just see how strong the support is for going to the otherside of the world to take on China.

The chinese know what it is like to be without electricity and piped water because they have been much closer to it then we in the US have.

Let's not even talk about the political and global responses to such a rediculous thought. Let's go back in some of the great air superiority campaigns of all time...WWII:

England: Bombed relentlessly until the majority of it all was rubble. Give up...nope.

Tokyo: Bombed relentlessly until the majority of it was burning sticks. Actually caused more deaths that both of the bomb put together. Did they give up because of non nuclear bombing? Nope.

Dresden: Bombed to the stone age. Germans give up? Nope.

Why is this? Well, because, simply put, no one arm of the military alone can win a war. We need the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines to do the job. Sure, we can go make a lot of large sized potholes in China proper, but getting them to surrender without boots on the ground or nukes is folly at best.

This testosterone festival of military toys is utterly ridiculous. You all are lining up our toys like this is a board game where only the power value for each piece is considered and there is no taking into account for ingenuity or resilience. With that wonderful view, perhaps we should just turn ourselves back over to the Queen, because there is no way we should have won that one.

Comments: Bombings in WWII destroyed their ability to fight effectively, if not their will.

The British will was destroyed? I seem to remember them talking about the steely resolve of the Brits. I guess that was misdiagnosed for destroyed will.

The Japanese will was destroyed? Have you even read anything about the Bombing of Tokyo and what the Emperor told his people just before being nuked? They were going to fight until the last soldier fell. Yeah...their will was just sucked from their bodies.

The German will was destroyed? Yeah...bombs first hit and the will was gone. Guess that is why there were so many dead bodies on the beach...all that vacant will.

Are you at least familiar with the Warsaw Uprising and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising? By the time of the Warsaw Uprsing almost 90% of the buildings were destroyed...but they kept fighting. It took troops and PANZERS on the ground to stop these insurrections, not bombings.

Comments: Because it doesn't matter if we destroy their crops, factories, bases, aircraft, radar, blockade their ports, sink their ships ect, they will not surrender. By the way, I think the modern Chinese leadership is more rational than Hitler and Tojo.

Don't give modern managers too much credit. Modern Russian managers forced soldiers to suit up and run into a radio-active burning Chernobyl to put the fires out without questions. Believe it or not...quite a few got seriously ill or shall we say morally challenged following that exercise.

Comments: I think the US and the West need some "humbling". They have caused so much damage around the world. China has been "humbled" during the Opium war and Colonialism.

It is Whites who have never been humbled. US and Europe are arrogant powers who doesn't care about anything but their so called free market.
