In February, a man killed his estranged wife in a church parking lot. In March, a pastor was killed while delivering a sermon. In May, an abortion doctor was gunned down at his church. At one American congregation this year preparations for the Jewish High Holy Days included training members how to fight back during a terrorist attack. All of this has us wondering, do you feel safe at your house of worship? Ref. Source 9

I do not particularly think about it much, but I have thought about the fact that the LDS church forbids guns in their buildings (except for law enforcement). To me this just ensures that said buildings are "soft" targets, as anyone who wants to cause problems knows that there won't be any opposition.

That is also why so many kooks and criminals attack at schools and churches. They know that nobody is allowed to have guns there, so they can attack with impunity.

I feel safe at my church however I'm a natural observer so I try to always keep my eyes and ears well opened since we heard so many cases of people storming a house of worship and starting killing others.
