Pro-Life Doctors Upset by Harry Reid Pro-Abortion Health Care Quid Pro Quo
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Pro-life doctors who are leaders of the Christian Medical Association are upset by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's reported offer to get physicians to drop their opposition to the pro-abortion health care bills in Congress in exchange for more money. Reid has reportedly promised national medical groups that the Senate would take up legislation to halt scheduled Medicare cuts in doctor payments over the next 10 years in return for physicians' support for health care "reform" bills that include abortion funding. Dr. David Stevens, the head of the Christian Medical Association, tells LifeNews.com that the report "shows how morally bankrupt this politicization of medicine is becoming." "If professional medical organizations were to play along with Reid's scheme of halting Medicare cuts in exchange for physicians' support of his healthcare bill, they would be selling their birthright," he said. "Such a sellout would be the watershed event that historians would point to as marking the de-professionalization of medicine, when physicians traded convictions for cash,' Stevens continued. "If physicians abandon their professed commitment to the patient's welfare in order to solely pursue financial reward, patients will pay the price--some with their lives." Ref. Source 4
Harry Reid Promises No Abortion Funding in Health Care, Senate Battle Next Week
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said today that there will be no abortion funding in the Senate version of the health care reform bill. Meanwhile, the Senate is expected to begin its battle on the government-run health care bill as soon as Monday once Reid unveils the final legislation.
Last weekend, the House approved its health care bill after adopted the Stupak amendment to prohibit the massive abortion funding the bill previously contained.
The Senate has approved two different versions of the health care bill, the Baucus measure and the Kennedy legislation, both of which contain public funding for abortions.
But, when he unveils the merged bill, Reid tells Roll Call that it will not contain abortion funding. Reid said he expects an acceptable compromise to be reached on the abortion funding issue -- which leads one pro-life advocate to think he will include phony language that doesn't actually prohibit abortion funding.
"I expect that the bill that will be brought to the floor will ensure that no federal funds are used for abortion and that the rights of providers, health care facilities, like Catholic hospitals, will be protected, so I believe we can work that out, and we will" Reid said.
Douglas Johnson, the legislative director for National Right to Life, tells LifeNews.com he doesn't believe Reid will include a true funding ban in the vein of the Stupak amendment. Ref. Source 6
Harry Reid uses the term 'negro'
News broke this weekend that Senator Harry Reid, during the election, described Senator Obama as 'light skinned' and commented that he had no 'negro' qualities. Is this 1810 or 2010? Take a wild guess as to what the reaction from the left has been -- is it A) Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, President Obama and other democrats calling for Reid to step down, or is it Harry Reid gets a pass? If you said 'B', you are correct! Another shining example of liberal hypocrisy. Listen to Glenn's reaction to the comments by Reid on radio today. Ref. Source 6
People less than presidents have been forced to resign for racial remarks...nasty or just inappropriate. Reid would have been lynched if he were a republican or libertarian.
Jimmy the Greek...fired for saying blacks were better athletes because of desire to practice being a better athlete and breeding during slave times.
Dan Rather...interestingly enough broke the story on Jimmy the Greek and got him fired...got a pass on saying that he was forced to cover a story because his network brass got the "buckwheats" from outside pressure. Interestingly enough, he was speaking with Don Imus at the time. Of course, Dan Rather is a big time Democratic supporter.
Don Imus...fired for calling the Rutgers womans basketball team some "nappy headed hos".
There are many examples of who skates and who sinks with a comment like that.

Good list of Dems that have been allowed a pass...note R. Byrd of W.Virginia. He was a KuKluxKlan member and is still in office.

Media 71% positive on Reid's 'negro' comment
It was so predictable yet still so breathtaking at the same time. The media somehow found a way to defend Harry Reid after it was revealed that he thought Obama was electable because he was 'light skinned' and did not possess a 'negro' dialect. Those on the left will often peer deep into the hearts of comments from those on the right to deem them racist. BUT when one of their own is caught saying, essentially, that dark skinned people and those with 'negro' dialect (whatever that is) are unelectable, the comments are defended. A report out shows that 71% of all reporting done on Reid's racist comment are actually favorable towards Reid. Glenn looks at some of the amazing attempts to defend Reid on radio this morning. Ref. Losing job = beating wife?
Harry Reid came out this week, desperate to get his brand new 'jobs' bill through Congress. As if putting the word 'jobs' in there will magically solve everything. Since the overwhelming evidence (the last 'jobs' bill) shows this won't work, Reid has gone another direction - he says the new bill better pass, or else women will start getting beat.
