Googaloo Introduction

Hello, my name is Rusty and I am in these forums mostly to increase my knowledge on the topic of LDS doctrine. I am a convert of now 6 years (baptized in 2003) and since day one, spent at least two hours in the local Institute Library daily studying LDS doctrine.

Before joining the church, I studied several world religions, came closest to Buddhism's teachings but not necessarily their religious belief system. I had my own theories about how the universe may operate and surprisingly when learning about the gospel, many of my theories were in line with LDS doctrine.

I just absolutely am thirsty for LDS doctrine and hope to learn more and possibly add my own perspective on some topics.

Just a reminder and to help you become integrated: this INTERNATIONAL Forum allows you to interact positively with many other Members about LDS Doctrine, however keep in mind that LDS Related Discussion is kept only in the LDS Related Boards.

Be sure to read: The Art of Discussion as some tend to become offended or argumentative, this may not be you, but just in case.

The next thing you should do now is update your profile. You can do this by clicking the link called, 'My Controls' in the top menu. Select an Avatar to give messages personality.

You may wish to venture over to the LDS Deep Doctrine board or the News & RM Section and have a look around, BUT MORE importantly give your input into the Threads you read.

If you like LDS Based Games then you may also be interested in playing: Nephi RPG where you can 'Journey to the Promised Land' or Book of Mormon Battles and see if you really know a lot about the Book of Mormon.

Welcome. Why the username "Googaloo"? Will you actually be participating as well or here just to look?

Hi, JB. I think I will carefully respond from time to time but for now just peruse. I do have several questions that there is probably not much that the Lord has revealed to us so I would be interested in other opinions.

Googaloo is just a name I made up in... Junior high, I think?
Just kind of stuck. No meaning.

Well the only way you will find out is if you Post the question(s) in the LDS Doctrine Board. Some answers may be in the LDS Mature Board though.

I will be very interested if you can help us with our Board: Studies of Far East Religions by responding to the various Threads there since you have a background in that: Source 8 Keep in mind LDS references should not be laced outside the LDS Board. Thanks.
