Gopee was killed on the jobsite at Riverview Park, Longdenville around 7.30 a.m. On Saturday by a man claiming to be in search of employment.
Eyewitnesses to the murder claimed that the man took a luchette, a tool used to dig holes, and hit Gopee on his head, saying " If I cant get work here, nobody eh working."
Gopee was taken to Couva Medical Facility and later transferred to San Fernando General Hospital where he died three hours after the incident.
