Konquerez, you are the type of voter that has all the power. The swinging voter who thinks with his head and not with his heart.
And obviously on Iran you are applying the same objective binoculars. Well I applaud you for that mate.
You wont be wrong on Iran. You can never be wrong for promoting peace. And I don't say that to disturb the right. I say that because I know for a fact diplomacy is the only way forward in the Middle East despite the fact we all speak diferent languages. We must learn to communicate and accept. We cannot force democracy or any other political persuasion or anyone.
I don't honestly believe Bush or his lunatic mates would dare bomb Iran. If he did then I can promise you thousands of US troops will be burnt. He's not that stupid, nor are his hawkish friends. I am actually interested to know what Halliburton's, ooops sorry, I mean Cheney's, thoughts on Iran are.?

Iranian group signing up potential martyrs
QUOTE |
Some 200 Iranians have volunteered in the past few days to carry out "martyrdom missions" against U.S. and British interests around the world if Iran is attacked, a hard-line group said Sunday. |

The answer to that is very simple, they know they are no match for a USA / UK assault, despite all their vain babblings, so what better tactic than for them to instill fear in the general public so as to get the citizens of these countries to not attack - it is all psychological warfare - which always comes before the physical warfare.

Here is a very nice editorial dealing with Iran's actions and aspirations.

Besides the fact that Iran has a strong history of lying and reneging on any and all diplomatic agreements, I am concerned about the rabidly anti-semitic rantings of the President, as well as the paranoid, oppressive activities of the mullahs. Are they really as unhinged as they appear? Or is it all posturing to make the world afraid?
Iran is the home of the ancient civilization of Persia. At one time, it was a magnificent home to art, culture, and beauty. Now, and for the last several centuries, it is the home of paranoia, hatred, and ugliness.
Of course, only 20% of the people in Iran support their government. But that government is strong enough to keep the people down, develop nuclear weapons, and then use them.
From their recent rantings, along with their support for terrorist insurgents in Iraq, it certainly seems to me that they would be willing to supply nuclear weapons to various terrorist groups. Where would such weapons be used? How about New York, Washington, D.C., Tel Aviv, Los Angeles, or London? Does anyone really doubt that the nutc... er, men, who run Iran would even hesitate to do this?

I'm not worried about Iran's nuclear aspirations because they simply cannot develop weapons anytime soon. And there is just no evidence they are pursuing any, it's all speculation.
I think the world should not jump the gun here like what happened with Iraq. We don't know if Iran is seeking nuclear weapons and they should be allowed to pursue a civilian nuclear program.
I think the rantings of their president is all posturing. Israel's military would crush Tehran in a matter of hours. I don't think Iran would be suicidal enough to attack Israel. Who else matters in the Middle East, right?
All this talk about Iran trying to get weapons is scaremongering in my opinion. The Iranians don't need to sponsor insurgents because they have a lot of influence over Iraq's Shiite dominated clerical government. Yes, Iraq is heading towards becoming another democracy failure in some eyes!
Iran's government is just another case of a clerical regime the West doesn't like. Iran should be dealt with through the UN.

Iran just keeps drawing attention to themselves. I believe what arvhic said about them posturing with their words and now actions. Here is an example of such posturing
