USA vs Iran - Page 29

I wonder what they did to get them to say that? Loss of life or limb?

QUOTE
Iranian television on Friday broadcast a second British sailor's alleged apology for trespassing into Iranian waters last week, as the standoff over their capture entered its seventh day. The sailor, who identified himself as Nathan Thomas Summers on the footage replayed here on BBC television, said his crew "trespassed without permission" and "I would like to apologize."

I wonder if the Iranians were hoping for a US catch rather than British? That may have given them more leverage?

Yes. Keep focusing on the Brittish sailors! We are almost done...

Feels a bit like a shell game doesn't it?

Two thoughts here:

1. Is it that Middle East leaders really like to just talk big (Saddam was a great example of that) and so the Iranian leader is doing the same?

Or...

2. Do they really have meat behind their words? I mean to say... if you want to delay something then you have to befriend your enemies into (Art of War) thinking you are complying rather than threatening everyone as Iran does.

As I have said before... Iran has never did anything so awesome in warfare as to cause the world to think they are anything more than a renegade country that needs to be slapped into reality.

As far as I can see, this is just another case of delaying the obvious. Iran is going to get a nuke...period. They want one and they have a large part of the technology to make it happen. Sounds like the only thing they maybe missing is the technology to actually put the charge into a critical state. NK can probably help there as well. Now, they also want the respect that goes with getting the nuke and that is where the boisertous attitude come into play. They are already portraying themselves as the huge underdogs in this world of western oppression. Who is the biggest characters in the west...Brittian and the US. Defy them in front of your congregation and all the sudden you got instant "street creed" as they would say in some areas of the US.

So it is really their choice. They can milk all the west for money, aid or technology like NK did and still build the thing anyway. OR they can tell the west to "stick it" and build it anyway and get all the kudos in the area for having stood up to the great western oppressors.

There still will not be a war. Just like when Pakistan and India developed their weapons, we say don't do it or we will not like you in the future. However, if you do it, we will have to address you anyway.

I am actually surprised that the nuclear club has remained this exclusive for this long. About 50 years is a pretty long time for so few to have joined. So in the future, we can all rest easy knowing that each of us can blow each other off the planet...not to mention the planet itself.

Why are you so strong in your idea that there will be no war with Iran? I think there will be, maybe not tomorrow, but given a couple of years and things will rumble. The UN takes too long to move / act and that gives a lot of time for anyone to get ready for retaliation. Let us not forget that Iran also has a number of friends that will continue to help her - Venezuela being one of them.
