Rather off topic, but...
No, I doubt they have much sway. I just enjoy pointing out hypocrisy of groups that love to protest against the West, while ignoring our enemies who try to kill people like the protesters. |

The U.S., for all their public blustering and behind-the-scenes machinations can't stop [Iran]; the global efforts of other countries can't stop it |
QUOTE (FarSeer) |
The aggressive rhetoric and posturing between USA and Iran continues to increase, what I call the "tweaking" of Iran by the US. Sooner or later I fear there will be some kind of clash or confrontation, but I pray it doesn't happen - for all our sakes. |
I am surprised by ths new stance on 'war' by France given their attitude toward it with Iraq. Maybe it is because there is a new government there now?

FRANCE: PREPARE FOR WAR OVER IRAN France's foreign minister warned Sunday that the world should prepare for war if Iran obtains nuclear weapons and said European leaders were considering their own economic sanctions against the Islamic country. This is quite a change! With as much dealings as France has had with Iran, I am a bit taken by this statement. With France, Germany and Russia being the ones that never want to use force, this should catch Iran's attention. I would never have expected this and it does change things quite a bit as the US might not even have to take the lead role in going into Iran. I do wonder if this has anything to do with France's new leadership. I just cannot picture the old French guard saying anything like this...

Seems like the Iran war drum is getting louder and louder. I wonder if there will be a bombing raid before the US elections? If so, this can hurt the Republicans badly. Also, what will the retaliation be like or is it that Iran is just one of those barking dogs like Iraq? I think there is more to fear from the allies of Iran.

If the U.S. bombs Iran for no particular reason at any time in the near future, we are done for, in my opinion. Russia and China would not stand for it! I can't fathom what could convince anyone that it would be necessary to invade/attack Iran. It would have to be something HUGE, and that all by itself is very, very scary.
Rather off topic, but... If not for the fact that war is necessary for the continuation of the current economic state in the U.S., I would say that it couldn't happen. However, this is the case, and we most certainly will have war going forward with some country or other until we all get nuked. In my opinion of course. |
