Wow that last post seems like that would be one of my worst nightmares, to have to put up with someone like that, that is one of my biggest issues with people is that kind of blatant look-at-me-look-at-me.

I just wanted to add that online, as a moderator [..], what I see most of are younger persons usually, talking about some minor mystery, a scratch or a noise or something, and leaping to "I'm sure it was a demon" and things like that - this kind of thing or worse, the ones that claim to be werewolves, "psi-vamps" or "psionic", able to read minds, give people headaches, etc. They absolutely will not bed, even in the fact of overwhelming (and sometimes near abusive) criticism and skepticism - they say they're dogs or "three tailed fox demons" (dead serious here) or some other outrageous thing. I know a lot of it is from pop culture and anime (mostly Japan's, not surprisingly). It is not just attention and belief in their stories these people want, but validation in what they describe, such as "And I feel like I'm being watched all the time" or "and I was talking to my dead father on the Ouija board and he said my husband is a jerk", and when responses are skeptical and even directly refuting or disbelieving their claims or providing alternate or directly opposite explanations, they become incredibly upset that someone would dare question them and not just totally confirm their preconceived notions.

They really want people to either believe them, or at least to get to tell stories like other people believe them. Sometimes some of them get accepted into the general forumgoers and tolerated with a subtly amused undertone - there's one person in particular that posts and chats well in a chatroom for the most part, talking about this or that paranormal subject, or on normal subjects she is familiar with, movies, current events, etc. But then occasionally it comes up and she just says things like "Well, when I was in my original form on Zeta Reticulon 3, it was very cold there and..." It is baffling.
