Possible Geopolitical Consequences of the Mumbai Attacks:

If the Nov. 26 attacks in Mumbai were carried out by Islamist militants as it appears, the Indian government will have little choice, politically speaking, but to blame them on Pakistan. That will in turn spark a crisis between the two nuclear rivals that will draw the United States into the fray.

CNN is reporting that the lone terrorist who was caught alive from this attack admitted that the mastermind behind this attack is from a banned terrorist group originally from Pakistan. Interestingly enough the US warned India twice that an attack like this would happen to them via boat into Mumbai, and that is just what happened. Maybe India will listen next time.

I am sure that they might listen a little harder to our security experts. I am not sure that they have what it takes at this time to prevent something like this happening again. I do not think that some of our larger cities are any safer.
