The big question is... which one would the US support in the end of the day? Pakistan or India?[/quote]
My guess is India. After all they always proclaim that country as the largest democracy. And Pakistan has always been viewed as fundamentalist Islamic country, which does not really translate to mean 'democratic' country. The current cooperation is a venture of convenience. Musharraf has played his card to Bush's liking so he is being tolerated for now. But if ever a war blows up between India and Pakistan, I think the US will dumped Pakistan. :(

I believe so too. Actually it is a bit frightening to know how many nations in that general area (Pakistan, India, China Russia) have nuclear weapons and how many countries in the west have. :o

I think you're right, Fireduck.
Although were it me, I would back Pakistan.
I don't like the idea of ratting out on an ally, even if Musharif was a less-than-willing one.
It was really more a case of "get out of the way or get run over". But he had the good sense to be practical about it.
Sometimes it is easy to forget that Pakistan is a muslim nation as it tends to be more 'quiet' than others about voicing hate against Israel, but what about the Christians that live there?

I salute you, Stranger. Strange, because sometimes I think you're a trigger-happy sort of guy and may even come across as someone edging for a fight.
But in this case, I salute what you said. It shows your honor. That counts a lot in my books.
