Mormon Cussing
Do Mormons have special "cussing" words that may seem very soft for others who hear it like: "Darn" or "Holy Cow"?
flip and all of its derivatives
Fetch
Holy Crap
Dang
Darn
Shoot
Gosh
Goodness
What the.... (My son says this all the time and I believe it is my fault)
Suck (which really bothers me)
By personal favorite
Arghhhh!
The only problem is that these all sound like the originals and eventually the originals slip out and your wife has to scold you, to not curse in front of the children.
I feel like dbackers here. I used to say "Moron" a lot, but my kids picked up on it and I have since abandoned it. In fact, I have whipped the bad habit of using all euphemisms altogether, because I began to feel like a hypocrite. If one word offends God, then surely its euphemism offends him as well. The same meaning and intent are implied.
Maybe that's why the Savior said that our language should be "yay, yay, nay, nay."
I used to use "fetch" a lot (picked it up on my mission, I'm not from Utah). But now there is this children's TV show called "FETCH! with Ruff Ruffman" and he has this little band of "FETCHers" which makes me laugh everytime I hear it.
