Now there is a thinking woman!!! You have obviously mulled this over. Blair laying his career on the line like that really made my head come up too.

It's not about something as silly as oil. We can get all the oil we want. For that matter, we could do like France and cut a secret deal with Saddam, if that's all it were.

There is still something we haven't seen yet, and my eyes keep straying northwest towards Iran.

I am more interested to see what is going to happen at the capitol. It is strange that nothing much is going on there. Probably they are relying on something else?

Is he hurt? I tell ya, he looks the type that you can bomb him right there in his face and somehow the guy is going to resurrected LOL.  The guy seems strong, do you all think this war is going to end with Sadam dead?

I am beginning to believe they are playing mind games, trying to rattle both Saddam and the military.

"Wooo, we're gonna AWE you with bombs! Then a few well-placed hits, the first being on Saddam himself. I know that rattled him.

Then the 100th Mech appearing out of nowhere last night from the west. I'm still trying to figure out how they pulled that off.

Then with all the noise down south, the Rangers and the 101st Airborne "drop in" from the north and take their northern oil fields practically without a fight.

Some very cagy military strategy going on here. So far so good. Not killing everything in sight.

Oh, and one last tidbit to make Saddam's day. Last night Secretary Rumsfield just casually dropped the comment to reporters that "we have been in telephone contact with high level officers of the Republican Guard".

Now you know, as paranoid as Saddam is anyway, he is having a duck right now- whether it's true or not.

Like 'em or not, you have to give it to the US military. They are the best of the best.

But this war is going to be longggg for what the US officials say, when wars are too long then not everything goes right (crimes of war).

Iraq must really be a sitting duck, or is that part of their plan? Maybe they want to look really helpless? Get some sympathy from the world? They could have unleashed some chemical bombs already, but probably they are afraid they might get nukes in return? *shrugs shoulders*

Saddam to leave? Is all of this propaganda? If France is doing this surely they must realise that this will really hurt their image.
