Well, everyone expected the US/UK invaders to over-run Iraq. It was just a matter of time. But I think a lot of people are real cheesed off at the fact that looters ran wild and there was totally no law and order once the Saddam regime fell. The invading forces should have been better prepared for the transition from invading to occupying force.

Certain institutions must be protected from hordes of lawless criminals, whether the ones you're 'liberating' or otherwise. And these include the hospitals and the museums too. I felt so angry yet helpless when I watched all the empty exhibition display cases, and the broken pottery that were supposedly as old as 5000 years old. Those are the country's national treasure, and mankind's too. They should not have been allowed to loot and destroy those! >:(

And hospitals were looted of their supplies and equipment. How come the US/UK forces were not able to control that situation? At least Saddam provided law and order and kept those wild fellows under control.

Exactly my thoughts. Its interesting how the US always seems to 'excuse' themselves from certain tasks. Were it the other way around and the people were looting US historic monuments and hospitals there would have been a huge uproar.

Unlike many think some of the POWs were treated well.
