: Why bother with your opinion about international issues with Saddam when you can take the advice of your favorite actor or actress?

DOUG ROBINSON: HOLLYWOOD FIGHTS WAR WITH WAR
Like a lot of people, you're probably trying to decide where you stand on
President Bush's talk of war with Iraq, so it's a good thing you have Hollywood
actors to point you the right way.

I thought the war is to prevent Saddam from developing and using nuclear and biochemical weapons on others. So, how come it is justifiable if the US uses it instead. Founf this in Yahoo News today. Do you think this report is true?
US Plans for Use of Gas in Iraq
(Austin and Hamburg, 7 February 2003) - Top US military planners are preparing for the US to use incapacitating biochemical weapons in an invasion of Iraq. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Gen. Richard Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, revealed the plans in February 5th testimony before the US House Armed Services Committee. This is the first official US acknowledgement that it may use (bio)chemical weapons in its crusade to rid other countries of such weapons.

You got to give US citizens one credit... they certainly know how to express themselves, and you would not find this kind of thing common in other countries...

WAR VOTE SPLITS TOWN
The Town Council has passed a resolution saying it formally opposes a U.S.
"invasion of Iraq."

So it seems that a lot of people have this view?
There Is a Strong Smell of Oil in the Air
Uri Avnery This is not a war about terrorism. This is not a war about weapons of mass destruction. This is not a war about democracy in Iraq. This is a war about something else. As for terrorism: Saddam Hussein is a cruel dictator, but the idea that he might be... (full story).

are the people of the world really that stupid, or naive, or spineless?????
Bush said in a recent speech, quote: "this is the greatest country. we are the most decent and honorabe people on earth"
come on now......dont make me laugh till i die........??the most decent and honorable people on earth?????????
but it seems that the rest of the world are "happy" to be less decent and less honorable or perhaps indecent and without honor.
that kind of bush arrogance is what is behind this war against iraq.
professors of history/politics and of international relations at universities in breat britain and at the university of the west indies have given the following reasons for war with iraq:
1) to destroy the most modern and successful arab nation
2) to enhance the status of israel
3) racism
4) to experiment with new weapons of war
5) to facilitate a rise in the american economy
6) to facilitate jobs for americans/english in post war reconstruction of iraq (related to (5)
7) to foreever keep socalled third world countries from ever becoming advanced enough
and, of course, they are RIGHT!
God save us from the Bushes and their like!

This is what he said ""I believe we can cross any hurdle, climb any mountain, because this is the greatest nation on the face of the earth, full of the most decent, hardworking, honorable citizens."
I personally don't think there is anything wrong with this in the sense of his love and patriotism for his country. I wish the people from my own country can feel the same way about their country. Things will be much different if they would.
Going back to the subject of the war, I do think there are other interests to attack Iraq and it's the oil issue. I think everybody knows it but I do think that the arabic nations are not going to just look and don't say nothing. They are going to react if they're being attacked for sure, I think Bush doesn't know really whats he's doing.
