All these countries belong to the OIC. What is the OIC?
The Organization of the Islamic Conference(OIC) Â joins together all the Muslim countries of the world on a single
platform. It comprises 56 Muslim States and four Observers. In keeping with the OIC Charter member States pool their  resources and combine their efforts to defend the interests, ensure the progress and the well-being of Muslims the world over as well of their own peoples.
It's interesting that other religious groups do not have such an organization in the world. Do you think this group is indeed a force to be reconned with? Compare it with NATO as a military power... would these countries with a religious influence be able to combine their military power and defeat a force like NATO?
In order for this organization to become a really formidable military force to be reckoned with, they would all need to be willing to invest money and personnel into modern armies. I haven't seen that most of them are willing to really do that, yet. If they all modernized their militaries and truly worked together for a common goal, then there are enough of them that they should be able to wield considerable clout, but I am not convinced they are willing to advance their societies to the point necessary for this "modern" military.
With the current mindset of one time destruction many seem to think that bombs and gas are the way to go as far as military strategies go. Economically the Middle East is a sleeping giant that could really take over the world, but unfortunately it is a society full on one take all and the others suffer. Socially, Islam I believe is the only thing that really keeps them together otherwise they would be fighting constantly.
