Please Tell Me About

???I have a questions about photo shots.... Im very new and you may laugh, but I am submitting a photo of my daughter to something and the company has asked for a photo.  They said "the face should be identifiable, but more than a head shot is preferable"...  

The photo I want to send is close up and shows her sitting in a "knees up to her chin" shot... it shows the top of her head and goes down approximately to her chest.

Its the best picture, but Im afraid this might be classified as a Head Shot.  Would you call a Head Shot as only a Face Shot, or do you think they mean more of a whole body?  Remember, it asked for the face to be identifiable.

I would appreciate your opinion on this asap!  Thanks so much!

I believe I understand what they mean... they want a mixture of both. Really you will need a pro to take this picture. Your child should stand more or less erect (but in a pose), but the focal point of the person taking the picture needs to be on her face. The face should look directly into the camera so all her features (expression) can be shown - in this way they can tell if she will be 'unique' in other photographs. Hope that helps... maybe someone more expert than me will say.

Thank you so much.  I did have a pro take the pic, and we talked about the criteria.  Im trying to get hold of them now because the pic is due asap.  The photographer also picked the one Im taking about, but I still feel its a "head shot".  Her complete body is not shown... just her shoulders and knees.  She is wearing red and it came out absolutely wonderful!  The others are not as flattering, but  they are still very good.  We just see that the red she is wearing is so good.     Any other input would be appreciated.

zbestone, a great idea is do a search on google.com about what is considered a 'head shot'. I know some companies they consider a head shot, a pic with only the face but others consider a headshot a pic that shows the face until the middle of the chest. You can do probably is search what the professionals say about this on the net or you may call them and ask them directly what they really mean.
