That makes sense, I understand were you are coming from.I feel the same way about everything you said I think. I tend to like my personal space and have found myself wishing certain people would not pat me on the back and such. Also I tend to get promoted or put in positions of leadership at the job place. Which before hand I make clear to my boss that I really don't want that position because I am not very good at that stuff. Over the years being forced or dropped into that position over and over, I have had to adapt and was kind of forced to be that person.
I still dislike having positions of leadership at work and avoid it when possible. Yet tend to somehow fall back in. I don't like the fact that I am telling other people what to do. I am very quite when it comes to directing people at work and when your working with temps who don't care to even be at work, it is not a fun thing. I quess I am rambling but needles to say I understand exactly what your talking about.
