Did they film the other three Hobbit movies in your country before? Are people like just starting to get greedy now or what.

Yes the other 3 movies were filmed in Nz, they have a area designed as Hobbiton.

That they were working on are redeveloping it for the Hobbit, not sure if that will go ahead now as Warner Bros are indicating that with unrest they may head to the UK and film.

Negotiations are still taking place.

Negotiations are now with the govt and Warner [Brothers] are trying to get better subsidies which will make the studio more money.

It will be interesting to see what happens next.

Hobbit's makers want more money

The makers of The Hobbit have sought more taxpayer cash after a two-hour meeting with Prime Minister John Key failed to secure the films for New Zealand. Ref. Source 9

Not quite the correct news talks are still taking place, however the PM has said that the money being sort is not a figure that they may be comfortable agreeing to.

It is work contract neg that may swing the deal with law changes, perhaps.
