Tom Ridge
"The Man Who Conned the Pentagon"
In December 2003, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge warned of "near-term attacks that could either rival or exceed what we experienced on September 11." He claimed the information came from "credible sources." But a new report in the latest issue of Playboy by investigative journalist Aram Roston shows that the source was a man who convinced the military and the Bush administration that the TV network Al Jazeera was transmitting secret messages to al-Qaeda sleepers. OK...so the terror alert isnt raised and something happens and it is found out by the media that the adminstration was told something like this. Is the administration crucified by the media on the public airwaves and papers? You bet they are! This is why you will never see the terror alert level go below mid point...EVER. It is also why the terror alert indicator is a joke as a barometer for the public, but is correct in saying that we should always be vigilant.
