I think people need to understand that the airport was there before they bought their homes. It gets to me that a person will move in and then start to complain about air traffic noise. If you do not like to hear planes flying over head then move. No one forced you to move into a house close to an airport in the first place.

Well I disagree. These folks never had to deal with it, what happened is that the airport kind of change the routes and now people who never saw or heard a plane all of the sudden are hearing everything.

NO a airport has runways that are long and set. A airport just can not up and move a runway. They heard the noise of the planes because they take off and land using the runways depending on wind direction. Maybe they did not see as much air traffic over them but they did see and hear some. IF you do not like planes do not move close to an airport.

international QUOTE
Authority officials say they saw an increase in complaints in August, after they alerted residents about the option of a southerly departure.

Residents started to complain more about noise before an change was made.

international QUOTE
Aviation officials insisted last week that commercial airliners have not used the unusual flight path yet. They noted, however, that Lindbergh controllers do allow a handful of smaller, slower planes each day to veer south after takeoff, along with aircraft that have missed the landing approach.

"The bottom line is that nothing has changed," Gregor said.

Just shows that the people who are complaining are complaining about no change at all so far.
