Gwyenth Introduction

Hello everyone,
Just joined. I have been doing a search on RPGs and I am in process of starting a group of young people to help keep live action role playing alive.

I am an artist by trade.

I am here to glean information, make new friends and immerse myself in the gaming world. I have never played board RPGs but I am an avid Online Gamer.

I look forward to learning here.

Greetings RPGer

We have FOUR types of RPGs here, which one are you interested in:

1. Start Now Type: For those who want to start immediately in a TURN based environment (like MMORPG) then you need to go to: Ruler of Kings or Emperor of Asia or Future Terra or Jerusalem Conquest or Lazarus or Germany 1939 and register on those. The Boards that handle Discussion for these games is located within this Community. Use the Site Map if you are unsure how to find them.

2. Integrated RPGs: This is where the Play by Post and custom script RPGs are part of the Community. Games like Matrix: Plugged, Cozyville, Be A Super Hero RPG and others considers what you do in the Community and thus it affects game play. To see a list of these check the RPG Listing page.

3. Writer's Paradise: For for those who prefer well thought out storylines via Play by Post where the players are more mature then keep reading below:
You need to make 30 Constructive Posts and a 75% activity level as a test to see how well you can participate in our Text Based Games, so get started now by selecting a Board and giving your input. The activity level is to ensure that you are not one of those types that join and then expect to play after days or weeks on inactivity. The best way to make your 30 posts is to use the INDEX scroll down, pick one or two of those Boards that interest you and start Posting! After you make your 30 Posts return here to reply and request 'RPGer Status'.

4. Share Book RPG: This is the EASIEST type of text RPG to get involved in because it only takes you joining in a Thread with a current Book Scenario and giving your vote in which direction a character should move. To see current games go to the Member Wars Board. In the Member Wars section you will also find Dungeons & Dragons 3.5 Play by Post where you can create a character and start right away..

Wow, thank you for the fast reply!

I will have to think about that and browse the boards a bit. I went out and bought a basic beginners D&D game set and am in process of reading the DM guide.
Being new to board RPG and I mean very new, do you have any suggestions? I would like it to be a Hackmaster (love these comics) type adventure.

Welcome to the Community.

You are interested in being a player or the Game Master? I do recommend being a player first. The best place to start is the Member Wars Board where they play AD&D. The GM is KNtoran and he actually has a Solo Thread where you can just start out with him and you so its not so confusing.

Since you are an Artist you may like to contribute your experience in this Board: Source 8

Welcome aboard the forums fellow RPGer. I hope that you take the time to join us in all the RPGs that we have to offer here. IF your wanting to learn about AD&D I can help you with that. If you want to follow along with all that is happening you can join in with the group that just started in my AD&D game. All you need to do is make a character. The easiest way to learn the game is to play it as a player. I know there are experienced players in the game and they along with me can help you in any questions you have. As a first time player I would recommend you start with a fighter. They are the easiest to learn and the easiest to role play for new people. Just let us know what you decide.

Also welcome! I am in KNtoran's AD&D group/game that he's running right now, and though I've played and ran tabletop and forum RPGs, this is the first game I've played here too, but am currently Party Leader. Stop by and check things out and ask questions, and maybe make a character if you feel like it - JB whipped up a pretty comprehensive character creation page that makes it pretty easy, for AD&D. Also there is an RPG Reviews section where you can read and review and discuss tabletop (and other) RPGs. And as noted, there are all the site-based text and forum games here, run using various rules and GMs.
