I have never heard of eating Moose (except chocolate moose). I have the 'Northern Exposure' Moose in my head as I think of Moose. I guess it makes sense as we Australians don't have moose...although we do eat Kangaroo... so I know that doesn't answer the question at all, just interested.

Never tried it myself but they eat a lot of moose meat in the country areas and places where its hard going like Alaska.
