Somebody on another message board brought this idea up.
I think its just one of those things that you hear at church and wondering if it is true.
I mean we can't even do the three we already have, why add a fourth?
Even more the three that we have cover all the parts of the Plan of Salvation, so adding another one would just be over lap.

Comments: The fourth mission or more specifically "purpose" of the Church has been unofficially proposed by general authorities in various training meetings around the world. It was identified as "caring for the poor and the needy". Contrasting - as I see it - with the the three other purposes, this one deals more with a temporal salvation.
