Are cannabis users thinking that marijuana / cannabis can cure all ailments or is it just an excuse to legalize a high?

While marijuana might have some medicinal properties the commercialisation of it is all business. If its really that good then just take it in the form of a tablet no need to smoke it.

A study of nearly 1,000 New Zealanders from birth to age 38 has found marijuana smokers have more gum disease, but otherwise do not show worse physical health on a dozen measures including lung function, systemic inflammation, and several measures of metabolic syndrome, including waist circumference, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, blood pressure, glucose control and body mass index. Earlier research from this group however, has shown psychological effects of cannabis use. Ref. Source 8o.

Cannabis reduces short-term motivation to work for money

Smoking the equivalent of a single 'spliff' of cannabis makes people less willing to work for money while 'high,' finds a new study. The research is the first to reliably demonstrate the short-term effects of cannabis on motivation in humans. The researchers also tested motivation in people who were addicted to cannabis but not high during the test, and found that their motivation levels were no different to volunteers in the control group. Cannabis excess linked to bone disease, fractures

People who regularly smoke large amounts of cannabis have reduced bone density and are more prone to fractures, research has found. The study also found that heavy cannabis users have a lower body weight and a reduced body mass index (BMI), which could contribute to thinning of their bones. Ref. Source 2n.

Marijuana As A Cure All?

There are benefits to regularly smoking cannabis. There are also problems from over use. How much is over use and how much is considered moderation? These are subjective terms and so create no meaningful ethic on an individual level. Coffee has tremendous health benefits. Caffeine can produce problems from over use. Nicotine has fantastic health benefits. Cocaine and narcotics have tremendous medical and psychological benefits. Watching television has been proven to have educational uses. As with everything, people are responsible or they are not. Should we let children smoke cannabis? That would be just as absurd as presuming that cannabis users think it's the cure for everything. These days, we are what we detest; hypocrites and stereotypes. We say that people who are concerned with the safety of vaccines are "Anti-vaxers." How asinine to think that such people would even exist. Or that people concerned with the health benefits of a plant would be satisfied for a processed pill form. Maybe they should make bacon in pill form, that way people wouldn't have high cholesterol.

The way I see it is simple. If you have a headache simply applying pressure above your eye or an ice pack may help or you could take a prescribed drug when it may not be necessary. The first two don't cost anything but the latter does. The first two have no side effects but the latter does. Does that explain my view well enough? Basically, I'm saying that marijuana probably does have some benefits but the way it is being portrayed is as though its the only thing that can be used. There are a lot of people who have money to gain by legalizing marijuana.

Marijuana users may believe that frequent use helps them sleep, but that perception has been challenged by a new study. It found that daily marijuana users actually scored higher on the Insomnia Severity Index and on sleep-disturbance measures than those who did not use it daily. Ref. Source 3l.
